RustyFlange wrote: »Sorry but just reading Marg's comment, is your son left handed? my son has no learning difficulties of any kind (other than I wish he would shut up once in a while) but he is left handed and the teachers are always going on about his writing and how long it takes him to write things etc etc blah blah ... when my OH came to parents evening with me I sat trying not to laugh as his response was oh well thats cause he is left handed, to which the teachers reply was something along the lines of that being rubbish, OH then went on to say well I am 34 and left handed, and I still can't write so no need to panic about Thomas! lol Good luck to you though.
I can see what you are saying but no he is right handed, to be fair to his teacher she did say to me i hate labels! but......
My DS2 is left handed though so i will bear that in mind when he gets older :rotfl:0 -
kms - my daughter is exactly the same but hers is because she is always in so much of a hurry to get everything done she doesn't take the time to concentrate
. Her Maths is good because she really enjoys it.
She's left handed as am I but there's nowt wrong with my writing unless I'm in a hurry or my hand smudges across it :rotfl:

All this talk of magazines - can anyone remember Blue Jeans??
Anyway - Kms - how did it go with the teacher. I'm interested in this as 2 days before the 6 weeks my youngests teacher pulled me to one side and basically said the same about his writing and gave me lots of work to do with him during the hols - but he is stubborn and wouldnt do any so tried to be stealth like and get him to help write shopping lists but he heard me on the phone telling his Nanna this and wouldnt even do that then:eek: hmm wondering how long it will be before I am called in?? Hope tomorrow goes well.
dtb - glad today went well x0 -
I've never read that one, and don't talk to me about A-HA or I'll come over all funny thinking about Morten Harket, mmmmmmmmm
Elysia I saw Paul Young in Glasgow when he brought out the No Parlez album and I was right under his mike stand, which was great until he twirled it with the mike cord and just missed cracking me in the face with it. The Lotus Eaters were his support, with their Jelly Shoes. Oh the memories - I feel old now
I loved A-Ha too, and Wham and Bros and loads of other boy bandsMy fave Enid Blyton's were the ones about the girl's schools, St Clares and Malory Towers. For the mystery books has to be Famous Five
I remember Blue Jeans magazine too x:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Hmm my music tastes were Madness, Bananarama and unfortunately my musical taste hasnt got much better I did go and see Hue & Cry in concert (at a very small place!!!) My kids are doomed they can recognise an oldie and all radios are tuned to Radio 2!!
I liked Enid Blytons books and thought how exciting it must be to go on a train by yourself and leave your parents to go to school!! WOW!!0 -

So, when i went and picked DS1 up spoke to his teacher and said i agreed with her and think that she maybe right and where do we go now, she says he will have a couple of tests and i will need to meet with the teacher that deals with it and that she will organise it for me. So will hopefully get it sorted either way. Thank you to everyone who has shared their views and given advice xx0
