So, when i went and picked DS1 up spoke to his teacher and said i agreed with her and think that she maybe right and where do we go now, she says he will have a couple of tests and i will need to meet with the teacher that deals with it and that she will organise it for me. So will hopefully get it sorted either way. Thank you to everyone who has shared their views and given advice xx

In a way if he has got it, it's excellent it's been caught at that age. I wasn't diagnosed with it until my second year of university, so I struggled all the way through school thinking I was just thick. My reading has always been fine (excellent in fact, if I may say so myself) but I find maths impossible, struggle to concentrate, my handwriting is awful and my spelling isn't great.

If your son has it, he can be provided additional support in his weaker areas so hopefully he won't have to struggle at all!

I remember all those mags as my parents owned a newsagents when I was at school so used to read them while I was waiting to go home. :D
Was a Twinkle fan for years though I'm not remotely girly :rotfl:

Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Blondie, David Essex am embarrassed to admit I saw Five Star in concert in Brixton (remember them?) Then moved onto proper music Simple Minds, Guns N Roses, Bon Jovi, The Who :rotfl::rotfl: and really really miss Terry Wogan in the morning. I've also seen Val Doonican and George Hamilton IV

That's thrown a few new ones in for you.

Books were Paddington & Winnie the Pooh (of course) something called Ant & Bee (that I can't find anywhere) and Milly Molly Mandy never did like Enid Blyton (sorry) but loved Arthur Ransome

Flourgirl - can you still do the 'Freddie & the Dreamers' dance?

I was an avid reader too, but not that fond of Enid Blyton. My fave books back then were Little Women, Good Wives, Jo's Boys & Little Men, Black Beauty and almost anything else I could get my hands on.

Well Done Dragonllew & ******** Definitely want to know both your lotto numbers:rotfl:

Scatty Jan - Not much sleep for you now until next Friday then? Don't forget to let us have the new addy.

My writing is still appalling but when I was at primary school I was 'allowed' to use a fountain pen instead of a 'dip in' pen to help improve it - it didn't!! There was a marginal improvement when I had to copy up lots of work from a girl at senior school with very neat handwriting but it didn't last. Think this is why I like the pc & use it as much as I can.

Well done on your wins Artydoll. You will soon be catching Dragonllew up this week.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed San Fransico PONR. The bead shop sounds fab. Received my new stamp today, and am so glad you recommended the guy, the service is second to none, so will have a play with it later.

Nice to see you back BunBun – hope you’re son’s first day at school went well for him.

Glad everything went ok for you at the hospital today DTB. Your bunting for Kitty is fabulous. Good luck with the PTA meeting tonight – they are bound to love the things you make.

Rainmac – so glad the childminding this morning went well. Letting my kids play on the wii, always works too!

OAP – I love your Zentangle black and white card, it is gorgeous.

KMS26 –Really pleased that your chat with the teacher went well this afternoon, if he is dyslexic then the school will be able to offer him additional help. Sending you hugs – good luck with the blood test results tomorrow.

Well done on another win Dragonllew – you really on a roll this week!

Congratulations Scatty on exchanging contracts. You must be so excited. Good luck with the move next Friday.

I strugged with reading at school, but since having kids, and wanting some peace and quiet, I know always have a book on the go. I have a friend I book share with, and luckily we have the same kind of taste.

I used to love Fine Young Cannibals, and the Bangles, and even when I hear their songs on the radio it brings back happy memories.
2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family.
It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,000

Ohh Twinkle that was the one I had before My Girl and my brother used to have Beano.

I was hoping we wouldn't go down the embarrassing concerts as I'm ashamed to admit to seeing Rick Astley in concert. Erasure isn't quite so embarrasing I don't think. I then thankfully got into A-HA, Simple Minds, Simply Red, Madness, Guns n Roses, Bonjovi and the most fantastic Freddie Mercury tribute concert in London so rather an eclectic mix.

When I was older I used to read the books based on two sisters at high school in America I think. Can't remember what the books were called but there were loads of them.

Right off to crack the homework whip as it sounds like world war 3 is in danger of starting.

Dragonllew you are deffinately on a well deserved winning roll.

    Well done artydoll.

Marg I can't dance at all I have no co-ordination whatsoever. I went Line Dancing for 10 weeks with my friend and I was the only one who still turned the wrong way at the end of the course!!
