well ds had a fab day at school - thanks for all your replies!

I am a bit less stressed but I still have his birthday to sort out for tomorrow. I bought a silicone giant cupcake mould to make his cake which wasn't a great success so I have had to make another this evening - this time a tried and tested choc one:D

will catch up properly Friday when all has calmed down.

well done to the winners - wow you are on a roll

What happened with your giant cupcake?? Did the mould not work well?? I was going to buy one of these. A friend of mine that makes cakes told me that you can get the same effect with a pyrex bowl an an 8 inch tin and cut the shape with a knife - might try this instead.

Maybe get that spray oil to coat the inside of the mould first. Did it cook ok in both parts of the mould??

it did cook ok but took AGES. I have used the mould to make the second cake using a different recipe (that I have used before) and it is taking much longer than usual to cook - weird!

Cuttlebugglers and Bigshotters and even if there's another Wizard out there, over on the Cuttlebug Challenge blog there is a challenge to make a happy birthday card with at least two layers, easy peasy for the talented crew on here. It started today so plenty of time.

Ah, thank you! I knew it would be something obvious! I wish I could ban acronyms from this world, I can never work them out. :/
