Thriftyscotslass - the mind boggles - battery acid on your tongue!!!! It must taste disgusting.

Rusty - they were from wildorchid. I ordered a bunch of roses ages ago from quixotic and I think they were meant to be 1 1/2cms and they were quite big that's why I ordered the 1 cm version this time. They are really pretty though - I ordered a couple of the mixed bags, trouble is at £2.50 postage I don't think I'll be ordering from them for a while. Your easter cards are lovely - I love how you've punched the corners - the glitter looks really pretty. Love that shiny card candy too. Hope your daughter feels better soon.

Rainmac - I might try and use them on a card first and see how I get along.

Sammr85 - good luck - hope you win! Your "thank you" card is lovely, it looks fab how you've stuck the sentiment on top of the flower. Your mother's day cards are great too!!!!

What a nightmare afternoon!! Spent just under 2 hours in the Dr's with DD. She has a nasty infection and is now on strong antibiotics, he said that he couldn't prescribe her any stronger ones!! I wouldn't mind but we were at the doctors yesterday and it went un noticed  hopefully she will start picking up now!! thanks for all the well wishes!

Melissa - I am sure I ordered 15mm ones, I can send you a few of mine if you want? If they are the right size we could swap some?? Up to you?

Rainmac - Thanks, I entered purple and pink one in challenges, 10 on the pink  and 8 on the purple  :rotfl: I saw your comment, I didn't even look at which challenges you had entered, I got all the challenges off Pollys blog! :rotfl: slightly cheating but less time consuming!

I have just looked on my blog reader (I have started to use google reader and it is so much easier than the reader on blogspot!!) and I have 713 blog posts to catch up on  Sorry but I have commented on Rainmacs but marked all the others as read as I can't comment on all of them and trying to find you ladies on here who have posted will be a nightmare!!!

Woohoo it is nearly NEC time!!

  • Rusty - glad you have managed to get dd some antibs, hope they take effect soon

Popkins - glad to see you back

Soooo jealous of all you guys off to the NEC next week :p Maybe I could swim across the Irish Sea to join you.

    Okay 'fess-up time...

Q: What do you get when you put duracell batteries instead of rechargeable batteries into your house phone?????
A: Acid dripping all over the mouth piece

My tongue is fine now thanks - my oh and dd have had hours of fun at my expense :D

Well I must write a good letter of complaint - sure has set people jumping around here. I've had two phonecalls today from the head social worker for adult disabilities and have been promised a phonecall from the Autism Unit manager tomorrow - so we shall see what tomorrow brings. I also have a reporter from the local paper on standby.

  • Hi all, been really busy the last couple of days so haven't managed to come on here but promise to catch up tomorrow. A friend of mine came over today for coffee and I was telling her that I had started to make cards. It turns out she was into it a few years ago and she had quite a few old magazines that she has lent me so I am really excited now to get some more inspiration and learn a bit more. She has also given me a couple of stamps to try and an embossing tool thing (sorry dont know proper name for it) and see if I get on with them.

Really jealous of all of you going to NEC, if I had realised before that you could have done it with tesco vouchers I would have probably gone. Mind you, just as well as cant afford to buy anything at the moment anyway :(

Hi All - seems like you've had a kind of better day than yesterday.

I got a card order today from someone at work :j plus she doesn't know exactly what she wants so will probably mean I can get my furry bear mojo back out :rotfl:.
Am feeling smug today - boss had a go at me on the phone this morning but it backfired on her when she needed me to help her later - came over all dim :) (wasn't too much of a struggle:p)

Have posted my X-stitch progress on my blog - OH thinks I'm really daft coz it's not finished
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p
