Vicki! Poor soul, I took my 15 year old DS to the barbers a few months ago and she called me over, he was lifting!!! It was awful, two of our boys were crawling with them, I combed them all out and used hedrin. I got them all and washed the bedding straight away.
I bought some Vosene shampoo for kids with added tea trea oil for keeping the little bu&%ers at bay. It was about £2 at Wilkinsons, and I use it on them all the time now and no reoccurrence. You can stand there and agonize........

Oh no! Well I've put it on my status on Facebook as it's the easiest way to let everyone know. I know I'd have been glad if someone had given me the warning to check himover.
DH spoke to the phamacist who recommended this stuff you leave on overnight then go through again with the comb and wash off. Me and DH are certain that we're OK but our hair is longer, thicker and darker. What do you do? Will still treat with the stuff but won't be able to comb any nits out if there are any.
What a nightmare. I've got some tea tree oil that I'll add to my shampoo I think.
I was going to blog my foundation review and took photos of how well it covered my acne/scarring but feel that will make me seem even more minging.0 -
Aww I like it when people enjoyed my subject - even though I didn't teach you hehe. I love it too surprisingly enough - although when I left uni I naively thought that being a CDT teacher (not food or textiles) I'd be the only girl in a department of nice young men
Nope - 2 old geezers with hairy ears and the rest women! :rotfl:
Aw Vicki hope you manage to get rid of them soon, must be horrible
You wouldn't seem minging though for doing your review! I'd quite like to know about the foundation actually, I've just started using Revlon mineral mousse and it's surprisingly good...
xThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...

I'll have to thank you instead of my old cdt teacher. I hope you'll accept thanks on their behalf

Vicki - don't worry about the white bits, you'll never get them off, they are superglued to the hair. They are just empty eggs anyway so won't cause a problem if you leave them. I'm VERY VERY experienced in these matters, two girls with long thick hair and one with long not thick hair has seen to that! In the end I gave up with lotions and just wet (or sometimes dry) combed them every night for months, finally they went!
I've been productive today, decided that I was going to make a 70s style maxi dress I've been hoarding the fabric for since last year. I'll blog it at some point but it'll have to be photographed on me as for some reason it doesn't fit Muriel the dummy. I'm very pleased with it but it took HOURS.0 -
Vikki get a Nitty Gritty comb.
They are much better than the normal ones and get more out.
The best way is to lather your hair with conditioner and comb through to check for nits. You are not meant to treat your head unless you have them.0 -
Mariel - These ones are sort of browny coloured, I think they're not hatched yet so really want to get them off in case they do. I didn't find any of the hatched ones but maybe I can find the dark ones on Dylan's light hair easily but your girls show up the white ones on their dark hair?
I can't wait to see your Maxi dress I love mine so much but haven't worn it out yet. Just waiting for that lovely sunshine!0 -
Actually when my 2 oldest had most of their nits they had almost white blonde hair, I think you must just have super-strength vision! Good luck with it anyway, hopefully you've caught them in time.
Maxis are the best for summer aren't they? I like not having to get my legs out!0 -
Ok, been awake since 5 but I was so so much more comfortable, hurrah. I could kiss my nurse for suggesting the duvet.
What isn't good is that I woke up because I have earache, woe.0 -
Poor you, earache is horrid1
i had a terrible night, nd feel terrible for my neighbours: the rooster started crowing shortly fter two and didn't stop till it was light enough for me to let him out.
I.m thinking of maybe stacking some straw around the house to see if it insulates the sound a little. 0
