is it true that the returns is only 14days??
i'm sure it was 30days, but when i took some of the things from my liverpool trip back to telford, they told me there was only a 14day return period..which means the things i haven't yet worn, i'm stuck with - grr!

Says 28 days on my Primark receipt so I'm just sneaking in with the stuff tomorrow.

    Hi everyone,

I'm trying to have a bit of a declutter at the moment but i'm really hopeless at getting rid of stuff even (maybe even especially) if i'll never wear/use it again. It's stuff at my dad's house and i've not really worn 90% of it since i left for uni 4 years ago.

I've been spending the morning making a start on clearing out my mum's stuff. We lost her to cancer just over a year ago. A lot of her things we've just left as they were until now but today i have cleared the makeup drawer and most of the scarves/belts.
There's far too much stuff for me to keep (guess where my hoarding instincts come from...) but i feel bad getting rid of it.

I found some nice silk scarves which i will keep a couple of but does anyone want one? I will try get a picture up but the bluetooth thingy is being a bit crap
I also found a huge bag of moisturisor/anti ageing samples if anyone wants them... If they work then everyone here can be about 16 again with the amount i found!

You just feel so guilty, don't you, even though you know it has to be done. I remember feeling exactly the same when we were clearing my gran's, but I kept a few things that I always associated with her (ok, maybe more than just "a few", I'm a total magpie). It's difficult, but you'll get through it.

I'm trying to do a bit of declutter a day, although I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle at the moment! We desperately need more bookcases - I'm seriously thinking of getting a carpenter to shelve one wall of the living room - the spare room already has one wall that has three 7' bookcases on it, there's three in the hall, one in the dining room (and two smaller ones) and one on the landing outside the loo, and they're all full. Oh, and one in the living room.

Daydream - keep the skirt as is, it's lovely.

    Oh that's awful :(

Shall we team up and rob a bank or something? I'm just sick to the back teeth of struggling by. I know I'm lucky that my rent is fairly low and I don't have that many outgoings but my wages are so crap that just a few extra things a month leave me with zip left over. Perhaps I should stop being sensible. If I didn't try and save anything that I could fritter money to my heart's content!

Sorry if I'm boring everyone, I'm just feeling sorry for myself :o

alex, you have needed new clothes with the weight loss, but are you ok for a while now? Perhaps the trick is not either or, but a sensible save with some pocket money?
