It does mention a rail warrant though on the website I looked at, they will pay for one of those upfront.
They certainly don't make it easy do they.0 -
Right im going to re ring the JC and ask about the rail warrant, even tho it would make a 25min bus trip away a 2.5hour rush hour train trek i would do it! will report back

Just spoke to JCP and this is what they said..prepare to be baffled haha
They WONT accept any claim for a crisis loan etc for this as we kinda knew already. They cant pay for the bus fare but i could claim it back as long as i have a signed letter that i attented, a name and a number they can confirm that with
BUT
They will happily pay rush hour train rates and give me a 1 hday travel card to travel in and out of london to the interview. It takes 2hours 10 mins and costs three times the amount but the guy told me several times that "were just trying to look after public funds"
Makes sense!0 -
Makes no sense what so ever, (besides from the fact they are not wanting to give you actual cash, I can understand that)and the next time I read posts on benefit bashing on these boards, I will direct them to your post about the bus and train fares, they waste so much money.
However, I am pleased you are able to attend your interview now. I wish you every success.0 -

I did mention to him the bus fares can be brought online and they could just give me the print out but he wasnt intrested
and thanks i know i have the job. I might even try ringing the manager up tomorrow and see if i cant just send him my paperwork so they have all my other deatils so i dont have to waste peoples hard payed funds
Thanks for all the replys guys

Hi, I know that it looks as if you've sorted it out, but I've only just seen this. Gumtree has a rideshare section in the community bit.
Good luck with the interview.0 -
Good luck with your interview! Glad you've sorted it out!0

I've just been to the JCP to get a rail form for an interview tomorrow - they're only too keen to dish it out. They'll quite happily pay for a train & underground travelcard to London, but they can't pay your bus fare? So ridiculous!
Actually, I think it depends on the Rail company. There are 2 lines going from my town to London, and I know that I can only get travel on one of them.
Good luck though - you deserve it after all your efforts.0
