Hi guys,
I got a job interview on friday and i have spoke to the manager on the phone who says he has no problem in re-hiring me ( i was made redundant last year ) BUT my interview is 24 miles away and i dont have the money for the bus fare to get there!
I have asked my only family member if i could borrow the money but they are in the same situation as me with little/no JSA left spare once bills and food are paid. I rung the job centre and they said they will pay it back usually within 4 weeks after the interview but if i cant get there how would that help??
Any ideas anyone? Thanks

How about applying for a crisis loan ????. you will then have to pay it back out of your benefits .
I dont think they will pay for this reason , Therefore you will have to say it is for something else .
I dont want to have a go , but how will you afford to get to work when you start back again before you get your wage ??
or will you have been paid your benefits by then ?
Good news that you are hopefully going to have a job again soon

how much is bus fare? Are you currently getting benefits? sell some of your dvds/things like that at cex?
You obviously need the job so to make a sacrifice now will hopefully reap its rewards later!0 -
Could you not blag a lift from someone?
How much is the bus fare? £5?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Pushbike? Great idea - arrive sweaty and dishevelled for the interview. What is it they say about first impressions? Get in touch with the Jobcentre. They have discretionary funds, and I'm sure if you kick up enough they will cover the cost of travelling for you. If need be, remind them about the billions that are spent on spongers who have no intentions of finding work.0

A crisis loan you have to apply for and it takes awhile to be approved. £11 dosnt sound alot but it is when you have around £24 a week after bills for food etc
And when you go back to work there is a budgeting loan but ill just eat beans on toast for 2 weeks
and when i start work i will actually get lifts there and home so its just the interview i need to make 0 -

I asked about this, they offered me cash for a suit etc which i turned down as mine is fine but they said they wont approve £11 for travel as i can claim it back AFTER the interview

Ask your jobcentre if they do a scheme to help with fAres.
Our local one can assist through the train company. Worth asking!0
