    Tesco is very expensive.

I buy from Aldi mainly. I have found recently that M&S do very good offers too - was browsing when buying the meal for £10 deal. You need to have a look around as some things are more expensive than a typical supermarket but some of their offers are really very good. Also M&S reduce items by 50% after 3pm in my local store so there are more bargains to be had than you would think. Sainsburys are good for bread deals and buying branded foods which you cannot get in Aldi/M&S.

You are lucky to have a Sainsbury that give you good bread deals, my Sainsburys would rather throw away bread/rolls than reduce it. I know this is fact because I have seen it being done.

You rarely see offers on staple things because people have to buy them, thats why offers are nearly always on treats.

Not true in Morrisons. This week they have been selling their in store baked white bread at half price, 50p per 800g loaf. New Potatoes half price, Carrots half price, beans buy 3 get 3 free. What can be more staple than them?

Not an Asda only problem but fingers of fudge multipacks are very often more expensive than single bars.

Why are they rip-offs? They are price changes.

£1.8x to £1.9y are the bog standard prices for a Fray Bentos pie. £11 is still several pounds cheaper than the standard price of a 70cl bottle of Grants.

Thank you for your most helpful post

    I have changed the title

And yes i do know what a rip off is thanks

How is it normal price at £1.93etc when Iceland sell at £1.50 and Asda is the 2nd largest supermarket its just a price rise so they can reduce again later.

Don't forget Iceland round up and down to whole/half pounds. Very often you see items in Iceland "Only £1" when they are 75p in other shops. Or the other way £1 in Iceland and £1.25 in other shops.

Like all shops, they lure you in with cheap items and claw the money back by making other items more expensive.

They try to stop you thinking about the price of individual items by drumming it into you that the total price of your shopping is cheaper in their shop.
