Hi- I shall link you to THIS thread, as the first post is written by a SW consultant and she explains the red and green days, and also the new EE option quite well. :)

Thanks Laura, and FDF, - that page must have been edited as it doesn't actually explain the red and green days. But I'll have a proper read of both threads and see if I can find what I need. Thanks again. x

Hello ladies! I haven't been able to read everything on this thread so apologies if this is already answered here. It's not entirely clear on SW website but is the basic premise of the diet that you don't mix carbs and proteins - so a green day is veg, fruit, carbs, and a red day means you can have meat but no pasta, rice, bread, spuds etc?

My mum is thinking of doing SW and I've printed off the sample 7 day menu for her, but its all green days, and, as she likes her porridge for breakfast we couldn't see how that would work on a red day! Sorry if that sounds dim!! Am not functioning very well today! :(

Food Optimising is not about food combining in as much as on each and every day you get to eat both carbs and protein together on the same plate.

On red (Original) days you could have for example a large steak with salad and a measured portion of potato wedges (done the SW way) as your Healthy Extra.

On a Green day, you might have a huge plate of SW chips with an egg (fried in Frylight) and a carby-type veg such as mushy peas. This would be an entirely syn-free meal allowing you to have your healthy extras later in the day.

Basically, every day is made up of a huge portion of free food (carbs on green days and protein on red) along with a 3 or 4 Healthy Extras (only 2 of these on Extra Easy plan) PLUS 5 - 15 syns a day which takes care of your treats such as wine, chocolate etc.

Your Mum's porridge would count as a Healthy Extra (you only get 28gms) though I would have this with some chopped fresh fruit to make it go further.

    Hope this helps :)

Anyway I thought I'd let you all know I might be becoming a consultant which I'm really excited about!!

    Well done :T

You'll love the job, it's very rewarding (in every sense). Be prepared though for it to take up much more of your time than they tell you at the interview. Have you been to an opportunity event yet?

Yes I went to one yesterday and I really liked the sound of it. I do work full time but I think I'd be really really good at it, in fact I know I would be. I can't wait for them to call to find out about the interview!!

Thankyou consultant31! That's very helpful. It's years since I did SW and couldn't remember anything other than red and green days! I will pass this in to me ma!

Well, I finished my fish week and what were the results of WI I here you cry? 0.5Ib off. sucks. Not convinced it entirely down to 'the plan' I think it's me- looking back at my weight losses no matter what I do I have a good loss one week, the an small loss (or even an unexpected gain!) the next. And this week was definitely one where I was scheduled a rubbish loss (and at least it wasn't a gain!) Ah, well. It'll show next week. It will.

    onwards and downwards.

hey i maintained again! which sucked too because my scales read i'd lost 2lbs and they are always on spot, but everyone this week maintained or gained so they think its the scales.

you sound like me! we need to get back on it!!

i think i'm gonna start red and green days rather than extra easy :) x
