I have £8.40 left to spend this month!!!
Though have lunch for tomorrow and payday is on thursday so my april starts then. I will only need some butter and a 4 pint of milk so should keep within. We guessed our budget at £260 a month so knocked £20 off for the challenge. Though could have been higher as the £260 was just times we had used cards. So not too bad
Does everyone else adjust their budget for 5 week months? I am thinking perhaps i will keep my budget the same so infact will be reducing my budget as it will be over 5 weeks!! Need to research some cheaper meals i think.Orange Fairy

Right - back from the shops
i`ve just deducted the non food items (compost) and such like from the total and i`m now officially £1.18 over budget, that wouldn`t be too bad but i`ve just been checking my reciepts and found that i hadn`t included a takeaway that DH and i had earlier this month
We very rarely do takeout these days and this is the first one this year so i suppose its not too bad but it takes me to £12.88 over budget
I`m going to declare my total for this month as £172.88 please MrsM as neither DH or i will be going near a shop until the weekend when our April budget starts. I need to do a bit of working out as next month will be a 5 week month for us so i need to update my freezer list and do a new meal planner. My old one is looking a bit tatty as i`ve been carrying it around with me
Rosieben - So sorry to hear your sad news ((((HUGS)))) nothing that i can say will make the pain any less but i`m thinking of you.
Poppy glos - Thankyou for posting the pork mince recipe, i`ve bookmarked it for a later date as it looks scrummy
Well it seems that a few of us have crept over our budgets this month, a new one is about to start shortly so we can all start afresh, god luck guys & gals.

Afternoon
Well I am up to 99% spent and have got a T*sco order coming tomorrow night which will really blow my budget. I'm not sure how I've got March so wrong!
Anyway I've made a plan from today until April 3rd when we go away for a few days over Easter and although my T*sco shop will be about £65 I think I've got most things covered!
I could use the T*sco vouchers though couldn't I? Help!

I don't get to post as often as I would like but just wanted to mention that I have just shopped at Mr M and there were several items which had the wrong price - (I try to have a sit down each time and quickly check the till roll just in case this happens)
The tins of sweetcorn should have been 2 for £1 , the organic spring onions 50p each and the muller light yoggies 4 for a £1 but each went through at the full price so I scuttled off to the refund till - I know it's daft but the man gave me back £4 - so I smiled sweetly and left -yep he'd got the amount wrong too- :rotfl:
On a sadder note I just wanted to say sorry to Rosieben about your mum- everyone has said what I wanted to say but I'm still sending a hug xMay you fill up the great clutterbucket of life and may all of your leaks be in cheese sauce
Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without:cool:0 -
Rosieben - so sorry to hear your sad news
We also had some sad news yesterday, OH's dad and nan both passed away recently. They live a long way away and we weren't in touch with them much, but no-one told us (there are rumours of a deliberate attempt to stop us finding out!) and OH is gutted as he has missed both the funerals. Feeling a bit shell-shocked still.
On a lighter note, I've just looked in my spending diary and I've spent the grand total of 86p on groceries since last Monday! Will pop to shop later to get some fresh veg and milk, wont need much though. Going to Norfolk for my hen weekend on Friday, can't wait!! Should come in under budget as next weekend is already paid for, will be nice to have a weekend without worrying about how much I'm spending! xxTrying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon .... :cool:0 -
Hello everyone,
Thursday is pay day so can you put me down for £303.56, thanks Mrs M, £23.56 overspend:mad: Got loads of fairy though on offer at Mr t's and got big washpowder from lidls. Overall I am well chuffed as it is the first one I have done, it has made me spend differently and I will be making improvements....e.g been monitoring how much we have spent on alcohol £83.61:eek: so my total would have been alot better if we hadn't spent that:mad: we don't go out very often though, we spoke about it this morning and agreed not to buy any maybe a few at weekend. Anyway I will be starting Aprils budget on Thursday and with it being a 5 week month Aprils budget for me will be £360 (Thanks Mrs M) with it being easter hols and we are all at home as I work in school kitchens and dh and ds off aswell. I have really enjoyed it and look forward to the next one;)
Good luck everyone, here is to April:beer:0 -

Hi,
just to say I have had wrong prices on MR.M receipts twice.
They were totally helpful about it, in ours the price signs get left out longer than they should, when the offers have finished, so if the offers finished but they have the wrong signs up they refund . I often ask them to check when I put my stuff through and they amend it, taking my word for it ( prob so use to it happening)
