Rosieben - thinking of you, take care of yourself. Missed you and glad that you are back.
katenut - Sorry to hear your news, all the best for you and DH in a difficult situation.
Have £24.04 left until April, but am using freezer and storecupboard lots. Had chilli (HM frozen) and brown rice tonight with DS. Tomorrow we are having HM soup and garlic soup (from freezer) for lunch as DD will be here. DS is going back to his Uni digs as he is revising for his exams. DD is fed up with her job so will catch up with that.
Keep up the good work everyone, only 9 days to go until the end of the month :wave:0 -
Hugs and prayers rosieben for you and your family at this sad time X
Sorry for the absence without leave folks it's due to there not being enough hours in my day:)
I am beginning to feel that the challenge is getting away from me at the moment as my budget for the rest of the year is diminishing rapidly. Roll on the summer and my garden veg.
I made a lovely Lamb Tagine for dinner tonight which was much appreciated by DH, so that will be on the menu again. We then had Banana & Icecream for a nice easy pud.
The only things I have large stocks of are not edible:eek: Toilet Rolls and Dishwasher tablets. Think I need to plan a bit better.
I will catch up on some posts now.Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

Good morning everyone,
Rosieben: my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Well, only about one week to go. Just need some bananas and some bread and milk. Think I have everything else in already. Although I am on the lookout for Ariel washing powder. Has anyone seen it on offer? It takes a long time to eat an elephant and I'm doing it a bite at a time!!!0 -
Gosh I am getting close to my monthly budget (my 3 month balancing budhet was a complete no hoper!). Went to Morrisons today for some of their current offers plus Iceland. Spent £40 odd. I really want to achieve this month's target having failed for the last two months. Even if I just scrape in with pennies to spare, it will be the principle of the thing. Mind you the kids here break up on Friday for Easter so not sure how that will affect the budget. DD said last night that she wants to do lots of cooking. I asked her whether this meant just cakes & things & she said no, she wanted to a 3 course meal plus cakes etc. Oh gosh, that will be interesting if she does. She's only 10. We shall see!Grocery aim £450pm.Spent £519 August, £584 July, £544 June, £541 May, £549 April, £517 March, £517 Feb,£555 Jan, £573 Dec, £465Nov, £561Oct, £493Sept, £426Aug,£496 Jul, £528Jun, £506May,£498April, £558 March, £500Feb, £500 Jan, £490 Dec, £555 Nov,£566 Oct, £505Sept, £450Aug, £410 July, £437 June, £491 May, £471 April, £440 March, £552Feb, £462Jan0

Small spend in B&M today; taking advantage of them having my favourite brunch bars in (they're my one guilty pleasure along with a cuppa in the afternoon!) and some toothpaste.Mortgage: [STRIKE]08/13 £28,896.49[/STRIKE] 01/18 £00 -
Ive been busy lately and not had time to post but Ive still kept spending records! So far Im doing well and have about £100 left until the end of the month. Ive been making my own bread all of this week which means a loaf every day-this was after blitzing my food cupboards and wanting to use things up. I had a big bag of linseeds so its been linseed bread every day.Gone back to the gym also and just squeezed in tim to coour my hair today myself. Gave dd a pair of scissors to trim it the other day-she was so nervous but did a good job. That saved about £15. Made a nice s/s from scratch yesterday and a trifle. No idea what we will have tonight-we shall see what is in the freezer.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0

I've done it! Well more or less. 7p over and new month starts on Thursday for me as payday so wont need anything else. Not that hard really and even included a meal deal and a few treats.
Deffo saved by: Making homemade hummus and taking into work with 3 oatckes (6 for 25p) from Sainsburys as a snack along with my fruit/yoghurt
Making homemade soup
Buying whatever was on Aldi Super 6 and using that for dinners with cheap chicken
Freezing bread on yellow sticker and using for toast in the morning
Shopping around a bit in tesco, Somerfield and Aldi.
I wanted to do it without having to shop every day and have a reasonably healthy diet and it's been okay. Bit repetitive though so am going to plan more for next month and do some different things.
So total March spend was £40.07 for me on my own and didn't include cleaning products or groceries, just food.'The road to a friends house is never long'0
