It's official drum roll......... I'm under !!thank goodness, after last months fiasco,
small spends in Aldi Mr t and Mr M totalling £11.28 which adds up to £148.47/£160 £11.53 under budget. My month ends today but hopefully I wont need to buy any more shopping till end of week and that will only be bits for hols as we go away on Sunday for the week so I'm not sure when to start next months challange. I think I will start today, and keep Aprils amount the same at £160 as I am sure over the year it will balance itself out. So bye for now xxM&S 2,200.00

Rosieben, I just wanted to add my condolensces to you. I lost my Mum 4 years ago and I know how terribly hard it can be. Keep yourself strong and remember to give yourself the time and space you need to grieve. Thinking of you, SpigsMortgage Free October 2013 :T0

Had the chance to pick up some reduced bread and milk today, so whilst I didn't technically need it yet, it seemed silly not to spend today.
Total spend so far is now £272.75, which leaves me £7.25 to get to the end of Sunday. We have bread and milk for about 3 more days, and everything else is fully stocked, so I am still hopefulDFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
(((((Rosieben))))) sorry to hear your news. It will be hard for a while so look after yourself.
Two mini spends for me I**land for milk, and some store cupboard bits from HyperE***a because they're closing with us. Rumour says though that we're having a Home B**gains. Anyone know what they're like?? What kind of food do they have? Anyway just £6.32 spent and still under phew.

Evening all,
Sorry to hear your sad news Rosieben, hope you are feeling as well as can be during this difficult time.
I have no idea why i keep posting as i have lost track when my fridge freezer died, but i like keeping track of everyone and im still trying a bit of damage limitation, and keeping all the receipts and minimising the impact so i keep motivated on here!
Had a spend today on essentials-2 x 1.5kg bags of sugar, 2 x bottles of milk and pack of crisps:o from pound shop-£5
Then on to the market to feed my daughters insatiable appetite for bananas, 2 huge bags 50p each. I love the fruit stall i go to, she is so very reasonably priced i dont know how she makes money, its great value but you do lose some of the shelf life compared to supermarkets but hey, cant have it all! Im not sure we could afford our 5 a day without that stall!
Ive also got my best friend a card and 'newborn kit' of nappies as she had her first baby on Saturday, poor girl had to have an emergency section in the end but mum and new baby boy are fine, cant wait to see them.
On a different note, im very pleased with myself, ive sold my daughters Bumbo today, which i paid £40 for a few months ago, they are very fashionable at the moment but dd wasnt interested so i got rid instead of just looking at it, so just for once made some extra cash, only £15 but all adds up!
Still using my rubber chicken from couple of days ago, although im not feeling very well today, very nauseaous, so dont think i will be eating. Have been racking my brains to work out what has upset my stomach and ive got it down to the tablets the GP put me on a few days ago, nausea is a common side effect ive suffered with before when on them, so glad ive cleared that up, was starting to worry it was morning sickness lol.
Oh well, roll on Friday and payday so i can see what April budget will be, am dreading my wages given ive been off sick on and off (hence the new tablets).
Night all x0 -
I'm sorry to hear of your loss Rosieben, I hope your and your family are doing ok.
I'm now over budget, but as my cupboards were bare I had to do some shopping. I had a tesco delivery as I was away with work over the weekend and I don't fancy walking to the supermarket in the dark during the week. I've also brought myself an easter egg as my mum said that at 27 I'm too old to get one brought for me. I will be spending easter with friends though, so maybe I'll buy them one each tooMortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30000 -
A few spends today on various things... my Mum gets a monthly delivery of chicken breasts from one of my step-dad's friends, all big enough to feed 2, so £5 went to take 6 of them off her hands. (I know it sounds like they fall off the back of a lorry, and maybe they do, but they're still really nice & not pumped full of stuff like some of the cheap chicken breasts from the supermarket!)
My local butcher paid a visit to my Slimming World session tonight where he does offers on all of his 'syn free meat' - I picked up 2 packs of extra lean mince for £5. Not bad, especially when they were already individually priced at £4.88 & £3.55!
A quick trip to Aldi resulted in £1.05 on bananas & 59p on grapes.
That leaves me with £86.49 for the next couple of weeks (my next month starts on the 3rd of April) - I'd really love to have £80 left in the pot but it does depend on what we need before then. Milk & bananas will be a definite, as will yoghurts so it would be tight. We'll see...!Mortgage: [STRIKE]08/13 £28,896.49[/STRIKE] 01/18 £00 -
thanks Bluefire, banwa and poppy-glos, I've added the recipes for ice-cream, chocolate trifle and gluten free chocolate log to the front page recipe index :T
Just a note for anyone intending to make the Slimming World icecream... firstly, it tastes nothing like ice cream, more like frozen yoghurt (which is pretty much what it is anyway so that makes sense) Secondly, although it hadn't frozen properly by the time we ate it (after 6 hours in the freezer, admittedly with frequent stirring) I've since discovered that it's the best way to eat it. After a night in the freezer it basically became nothing more than a block of ice - I had to leave it out to defrost before we could finish it off!
Still, it went down very well with the guests I served it to, so it's still a nice dessert. I have read that if you own an ice cream maker it produces a much better result.Mortgage: [STRIKE]08/13 £28,896.49[/STRIKE] 01/18 £00
