Spent a fair bit since Friday 26th when my challenge. £17.00 Fri 26/2 then £9.00 Sat 27/2 £23.00 Sunday and £8.00 today. total spent so far £57.00 leaving £83.00 for rest of the month.
Well stocked up now though and only in work half a day today so have been batch cooking and now have 11 meals in freezer as well as tubs of grated cheese/boiling bacon and a HM fruit sponge so rest of the week should be NSDs. thats the aim anyway!

    £83.00 left
Make £2 a day challenge - doing well so far.

Another NSD for me today, mainly because it was my DD's 5th birthday! I was at work and she was at school, so I really only saw her this evening for a bit.

I didn't take my purse to work today on purpose, and that was a really good move, as I fancied some chocolate at lunch time (work is opposite a co-op), but couldn't get any as purse at home!

    Have a good night all,

Frugal 2018 needed! Saving and NOT spending
  • Hi everyone. My first day of the challenge! Am strangely excited! My month runs from 1st - 31st.
Just a small spend of £6.48 today, including enough meat for 3 meals, reduced pork joint and cumberland sausage mmm.
Does anybody know what N*tto and it's products are like nowadays? I'm more of an A*di girl myself but have been wondering about venturing into my local store for a change. Good luck for March everyone.:)

First shop of March for me today, popped in to Co-op on the way home hoping for bargains. No whoopsies but there were some great offers, all half price, Redskin potatoes 1.5kg bags for 70p eac, Boneless pork leg £3.19 per kg.

I got loads of meat among my £9.37 worth of shopping. Not had pork for years so putting in slow cooker and hoping for the best.

Does everyone know it is National Pie Week? :D Have some left over stew that could make a lovely pie. My hubband would think I really loved him if I did that.

Perriwinkle, things must be tough for you, you sound like you are doing a great job

Please can you put me in for £280 for March -thanks very much
My first shop for march came to £24.46 and for some unknown reason I bought 3 tins of spelt wheat for 59p -I haven't got a clue what to do with it and thought I might mix it in a salad unless anyone else has any ideas -I thought it was put into bread but tinned spelt? I think I had a brain storm as I'm still adding up the february receipts:o
May you fill up the great clutterbucket of life and may all of your leaks be in cheese sauce:D
Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without:cool:

Hi, I'm new to the grocery challenge and think I'll aim for £320 for March that's for 1 adult & 4 children. Already had my first big shop of the month at £78.16. Will try and have a few nsds now to even things up a bit. Milk should be ok for a couple of days and as usual I took advantage of the special offers on loaves so I could put a couple in the freezer thereby reducing the need to pop into my local Morrisons for a loaf & milk & ending up spending £40 on stuff I don't need :D
Back on the money saving wagon again!

    Hello

Could you put me down for £125 this month please. I think I will make this my monthly budget from now on whether its a dog food month or not (must try to save some pennies to even out dog food buys). Will be along soon on Febs challenge to update as my month ends on Thursday and I wont (cant) spend anymore - gives you a clue, doesn't it?

Good luck everybody, Spring is in the air, lighter evenings and less on fuel bills - HORRAY!!!!!

I only got 3 portions from my shepherd's pie (I work 4 days a week); I could have stretched it to a fourth but I get REALLY hungry at lunchtime. I think that having to buy lunch at work one day is better than resorting to a chocolate bar every afternoon, even though it is slightly more expensive. So am aiming for NSDs apart from Friday.
    GC: December: £145?/£120; January: £125.70/£120; February: £163.22/£120; March £113.94/£120; April £DOOM; May £Gave up; June £DOOM; July £160.78/£108; August £7.65/£200

    HI all

Only spent £1.56 on bread at the shops yesterday but then we decided to have a chinese in the evening - another £13.30.
As my general spends budget is so dire this month (only got about £100) this has got to come out of the grocery budget and will be the last takeaway we have this month.
Tonight I'm making a cheese and lentil loaf for everybody - this is going to be interesting but I really need to try the kids with something different and frugal. Wish me luck!
Should only need another loaf and a couple of bananas today. Will be exercising great self-control in the C*op!
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.
