Pls can I join in. I've lapsed these past few months, but I've been out of work for 25 weeks now and my JSA has stopped so I have no further income.

I aim to do this in less than £100 this month though I'd like to halve that!

£2.50 spent today on fresh fruit.

Good evening everyone. Just popped in to update my sig. Went to the Co-op on the way home and got some milk. Also got a bag of baby salad leaves for £1 instead of £1-50 and two 1ltr cartons of own-brand 100% orange juice for £2-50. Wanted some coleslaw for tea but the nicest own-brand one was £1-69, so I resisted the tempatation as we never use it all up and I end up throwing it away! Then I saw on the deli counter that they were doing creamy coleslaw half price and bought the smallest size pot for 28p! Result! Shouldn't need any more stuff until Thursday.

I was at a conference for work on Friday and one of the presentations was about the environment etc. They gave us a list of things we could do to help make the environment better (like fly less, recycle more, use local produce) and asked us to put them in order of importance. Guess what was the most important thing we could do? It was 'Consume less'! So all us GC people can give ourselves a pat on the back for being environmentally friendly as well as economical!

    Have a good evening everyone.

    Hi all

MRS M Can you put me down for £200 again this month please.

Can't declare my February final total as did the shopping with OH and he has the receipt in his wallet so will have to get that off him tomorrow and total it up. should have been within target though as I didn;'t buy much on Sunday just a few bits and bobs (mind you they all add up!!). Plan this month is just to go to the shops once a week and stop the silly top ups. did well at the beginning of last month but slipped up towards the end.

    Hello everyone
£200 for me for March please as it's a 5 week month in the Cranky household. This months aims are to meal plan when possible, and to keep the freezer stocked with healthy HM ready meals by batch cooking in advance. It's so good to come home from work and know that there's something healthy and tasty already prepared for our evening meal.

we never buy sacks in the summer, they always sprout to easily:)Tend to buy new pots then and eat mainly salads in the summer. My neighbour grows potatoes in some big plastic dustbins for the warmer months. ...1

Yes they do sprout quickly in summer, just finishing off last year's now and we don't buy the sacks again until the autumn; I used to grow potatoes in bins and also had some good new potato crops in grobags (emptied out and refilled as the potatoes grew upward). I don't have a garden now or any outside space - not even a windowsill wide enough to take a pot of herbs :( so I envy you your [STRIKE]22ft[/STRIKE] 200ft garden :D
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

Oh dear I was meant to get my first online shop of the month tonight, but I've just had a call to say that the driver has put his back out so it won't be arriving until wednesday. I have random things to eat in the freezer, but I've run out of my favourite coffee and washing powder :( Luckily I'm not in desperate need of doing any washing, but the thought of having to resort to the own brand jar of coffee in my cupboard fills me with dread.
