Hmm well I might have a look and see how much the frozen pastry is when I next go shopping then, if it's going to cost about the same then I might just buy it so it saves me from having to make it :o

Spent £3.09 in the F&V shop mainly on things for the guinea pigs:-

    Cucumber 80p
    Fresh Beetroot 61p
    Milk ( 2 litres ) 79p
    Lettuce 40p
    4 Bananas 49p

Have decided to list everything I spend this month on a spreadsheet, and seperate it into categories to see where my money goes. So including these spends the total so far is £60.72 which is divided up by :-

    Food ( including fruit ) £39.09 64.38%
    Soft Drinks/Milk £7.39 12.17%
    Alcohol £0.00 0%
    Toiletries £0.00 0%
Baking Ingredients ( flour, sugar etc )£0.00 0%
    Cooking Ingredients ( oils, herbs etc ) £1.93 3.18%
    Snacks ( i.e junk food! ) £5.04 8.30%
Misc ( if I pick up things for my parents, or other random things ) £4.67 7.69%
    Guinea Pig food £2.60 4.28%

Probably seems somewhat obsessive but I found it quite interesting to see what the breakdown is. I know I'll be in for a shock come the end of the month when I see how much money goes on junk food and pop!
Going to get to grips with food shopping again, starting February!

Got married to my lovely hubby on 12/11/2011 :D

First shop of March for me today, popped in to Co-op on the way home hoping for bargains. No whoopsies but there were some great offers, all half price, Redskin potatoes 1.5kg bags for 70p eac, Boneless pork leg £3.19 per kg.

I got loads of meat among my £9.37 worth of shopping. Not had pork for years so putting in slow cooker and hoping for the best.

Does everyone know it is Nationl Pie Week? :D Have some left over stew that could make a lovely pie. My hubband would think I really loved him if did that.

Perriwinkle, things must be tough for you, you sound like you are doing a great job

Well first spend of the month is £47.54 from Mr T's. It's more than I'd like, but that's because it was a delivery (couldn't get any codes to work for me so had to pay £4.50 delivery) and it includes some expensive foods for hubby's special birthday meal (which is this evening).

Totally scored on the price matching front, however, as I'd orderd 2 T Value rump steaks. They were substituted for 4 (4!!!!!) sirloin steaks which cost £8 more! So hubby will get his steak tonight and there will be 2 left in the freezer for another day he needs cheering up. Woooo.

Spent €61 to-day but think that I have enough food for at least ten days, may have to get milk before then but maybe not.
