Hi everyone
I parked at the Ilford retail car park. It stated that the car park was free for 2 hours, but I was late getting out of the car park by around 55 minutes!!!!!!!
And because of an emergency I just drove out!
Now I understand that most people actually bought a ticket yet still got a fine. But in my case I did not even bother buying a ticket. So I am sure that I will get a fine.
So I should pay the fine?0 -

Thank you for the assurance, having read more of the posts I feel less stressed about it now.
But I guess people will keep on using the car park for free? Seing as there is not action being taken. Why don't they just change the whole car park to pay and display, with officers monitoring?0 -
Nobody on here condones the non payment of proper parking fees. What we object to is the excessive "penalties" demanded by the parking companies for breaking their rules. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Just received the pathetic letter three. Ignored.
I have ceased being a customer of the business who have a contract with parking eye. Only a few hundred pounds a year but the message needs to be given very forcefully that anyone associated with this mob should be penalised.0 -
Having received a "parking charge" (actually called a "penalty charge" on their signage) in Borehamwood Shopping Park, I wrote to advise them that I had in fact left within the three hours and returned later that day (all confirmed by various receipts and appointment cards). They totally ignored everything I have ever said so I have in turn ignored all their correspondence. Today I received a letter (dated 24th June) threatening me with legal proceedings. I have scanned in a copy of their letter for all to see (but not sure where to upload it).
It is in fact a cheap photocopy and they can't even get the date right - when is 3/18/2011? Also their "professional" letterhead has the word "Registed" at the bottom. What professionals they must be!
Nevertheless, I am most concerned that they seem to be coming after me. I have in fact reported them to the BPA and am waiting to hear.
Any comments would be welcomed. Thank you.0 -
