welcome Rabbit:j
Sorry to hear about your BF, have been there myself and know the pain:(.
However these things do happen for a reason and that just wasn`t your path...you will find somewhere down the line that you are in a much better place and will come to understand why this all had to happen;)0 -

Hun, you really need to drink something - if you've spent 12 hours being sick then you will have lost quite a bit of fluid, and you may end up very dehydrated.
Try tiny sips, or put a few ice cubes in a glass & sip from that as they melt. Or maybe make a slushy-type drink with a little bit of fruit juice & some crushed ice?0 -
FLUTTERBY try flat diet coke with ice in it;)I am still feeling crap today but not sick anymore, but also have the crippling back ache:(:(:(DGD is still poorly, bless her:(:(
SUNNYGIRL well done on OH job:j:j

Afternoon all
Got back from Netto at 10.45am got a few bargains - 200g Kenco coffee is £2 so stocked up and got 6 jars.
They had 500g packs of pork pieces reduced to £1.20 and I got two - handy cos I am doing Somerset Pork tonight.
Also got 2 hefty packs of Bacon misshapes for £1 each.
Well it's Snowing again and seems to be settling
Flutterby ;
A jacket spud should be good try to eat the skin if you can because it is full of minerals and you really should try to drink something x

Afternoon all~
N9eav- Norwich?! Coming our way then? Glad the OH had a nice birthday and good on you for the superhuman bloke bit
PP- Glad you got through yesterday ok, but sorry to hear about the cold. Stay warm and take care of yourself.
flutterby- glad you're feeling better, hope you continue to improve. Are you able to get any liquids in yet? How did the spud go?
Sunnyday- No prob- I can wait for a slice from the next loaf, I can be very patient when I want to be
rabbit8587- Must be so difficult being in the same home, good on you tho for thinking ahead. You'll get lots of help here on the OS board and everyone here on the daily is just so lovely. Just concentrate on yourself and keep looking ahead.
Just a thought . . . all this talk of tummy bugs and ice, shouldn't liquids be room temp if you've tummy 'troubles'? Well, at least that's what granny always said. Just thought I'd put in my 2p of advice.
OS has taken a bit of a sideline today as we went hunting for a sofa 'locally' but found nothing that fit the bill either in price or style sadly, which will mean trip to Norwich sometime next month to have a go 'round the "furniture maze". Where all of the sofa/furniture shops are in one area. Wish you could tell how they feel when looking online :rotfl: Did pick up some veg at Lidl and a couple of hocks from a butcher in town, so maybe a tiny bit of OS todayPut our bedding in the washer before we left and BH has just gone and got it out of the dryer (in workshop) for me . . . ain't he lovely!
Off to get a coffee, maybe one of those eclairs that found their way here. Somehow.
Take care0 -
get well soon to Candygirl and flutterby and all feeling poorly x
welcome to rabbit!
not long got back from the funeral. It was a lovely service - a string quartet played us in and out of the service, my auntie was a violinist and played in several large orchestras - one of which was the Worcester Philarmonic and the music was wonderful. The church was packed and it was really interesting to hear about her life.
plans for later are to make a batch of leek and potato soup for tomorrow and put the BM on. Might also make some cheese and potato pies if I'm feeling energetic.
DH managed his milkround but it was a short day today - tomorrow is going to be harder on him.
Its freezing here and we've had some snow showers but nothing is sticking as yet.
Off for a quick browse now. xDo what you love :happyhear0 -

Thanks for all your support guys, I live on my own, and although my parents and friends have offered to come round and look after me I don't want to give them my bug, so it really helps having you lot think about me.
I managed a quarter of the small spud, and have had half a glass of water. I'm gonna try drink some more. Really fancy some orange juice but only have squash in so may see if I can manage some of that.
Rabbit - welcome, we are a lovely bunch here. Just wanted to say I was in exactly same position as you at your age. now 5 years later, I can totally look back and see that it was the best thing to have ever happened to me. Took me 9months to get over it, but then I've done so many wonderful things since that I never would have with that bf.

Wave hello to rabbit
Get better wishes to PP, Candygirl and flutterb.
Made a lamb hotpot in the slow cooker and then made Spanish omelet for DD(16) for tea. It crumbled coming out of the pan and looked weird but she ate it!
Dd (20) phoned to say she had just chipped a front tooth so she is coming home on Thursday to see dentist, then back to Newcastle for uni, then back home on Saturday for her 21st. DH will drive her to and from the railway station in York. Kitchen ceiling is being done then so that should be fun.
We have a viewing of the house next Thursday evening but not expecting anything to come of it. Seems to have been a really long winter and can't wait for Spring and to be out in the fresh air and build myself up. DH wants to drive us to the seaside as he has a touching faith in the restorative powers of "the sea air and the moor air!"
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

Evening everyone.
Late one from me. Busy with mindee and kids this morning and then went to get sack of spuds and some veg from farm type shop this afternoon.
Tea going to be fish and chips (but not from the chippie). Was going to be BBQ chicken but H fancies fish tonight so will do that tomorrow instead.
Snowing here since this afternoon but it's silly fine flakes and doesn't (at the moment) appear to be sticking. Fingers crossed it doesn't get any worse as I have friends coming over tomorrow morning.
Got to make some biccies and I have none in the house and I am nearly at the end of my lemon drizzle cake.
H arranged for some tulips, balloons and chocolates to be delivered today and for once I don't care about the cost. put a smile on my facePerhaps the romance in our marriage isn't dead and buried after all
Taplady - glad to hear your Aunties funeral went well xx
Rabbit- welcome to OS! Dividing up the pens and pencils? Really? May I be so bold as to say it sounds like you are well shot of him......sorry you're feeling low. Can't help having to share the same space as him xx
flutterby - Please try and get more fluids in you. I am glad you managed a little bit of spud and some water.
Candygirl and Ladyshopper and PP - hope you're all feeling better soon xx
NPM - it's shocking to see the carp that is in most food and the affect it can have on behaviour. glad Noah is a bit more settled. Shame about your migraine xx
Rosyred - crossing my fingers your DS can get a job soon xx
Had better get the kids tea sorted.
