  • Morning all

I'm feeling much better today but still rather ill. My back has been painful all night, I feel like Grandpa in the episode of The Simpsons when his kidneys explode :(

I am a bit peckish this morning, which I take to be a good sign as I only managed half a slice of dry toast yesterday. I'll wait a bit yet before eating though.

I opened my blinds in lounge today and saw that there were over 20 swans in the dock outside :) they live in a lake 10mins walk away and we sometimes get the odd pair floating round here but they have all seemed to come for a visit!

Have a good day all, candygirl - hope you're feeling better

Sunny: :T Cogratulations to DH for getting the job x
Hope that Shez and MrsN9 had good birthdays x

Ladyshopper, flutterby and Candygirl : Hope that you are feeling better today x

We still have snow on the ground with more forcast for this afternoon and it is bloomin' cold here. (This is dependant on whether the BBC gets it right for once)

DH enjoyed his Birthday dinner even though it was my backup plan - He said I cook better than any restaurant that he has been to anyway :lovethoug

Cake went down a treat too (WW can wait - naughty me had a piece)

Didn't sleep well, the cold got into the knees and if one stopped twinging the other started. So got up at 3 and took a couple of painkillers and slept like a log afterwards but found it tough getting up this morning.

One load of washing done, DS gone off to school and breakfast things washed and dried.

Going Shopping with DH today cos DH on split shift so he should be home at 9.15am
Hope he is not as late as yesterday it took him an hour and a half to get home and he only works a mile away

    Love to All x x

    Morning All.

PP/Jc Hope you feel better soon

Sunnygirl Congratulations on your DH Job:beer:
Well slept much better last night so feeling good. Look after my DGS today but it is a long day until 8.00 tonight. I love him to bits but am finding it too much with not being well and all these investigations:(. I really don't know how to bring it up with my DD but think I am going to have to.
Have an MRI scan of the spine tomorrow so feeling a bit anxious:(

No cook day for me today, it will be something quick like sausage sandwiches as the little one takes up all my energy.

DH was out early this morning. He has had a bit of this awful tummy bug so not feeling his usual self. I am hoing he feels better today. He is the strong silent type so never complains but I know he is not 100%

Well a wash in shall go and hang it on the maiden. Nothing too exciting today. Have a good day peeps J x

  • Good morning all :hello:

Just a quickie from me today, been over to the 25% off TU clothing today to pick up a few bits for DS [he's growing far too quickly ], and managed to educate the woman on the checkouts about it being 25% off as she was adamant it wasn't as there were no signs up. Guess who was right :p

Also picked up some bits for lunch for the rest of the week - the scotch broth turned out to be nothing special last night, it was a little overcooked after being in our SC all day yesterday (the antique SC that only has one setting!). So that put a stop to me having it for lunch today :o

Dinner tonight is a HM chinese though which should be yummy :j WM was on this morning, and the load I had taken out on the airer to dry. Am starting to feel a little more in control of the house now which is good, but need to make sure I keep on top of it or I'll be back to square one, and doing this >

Am going to try and update my grocery budget and cashflow spreadsheet this evening to see how I lie on the money situation at the moment - fingers crossed that has a positive outcome!

Hope everybody has a good day, and ((hugs)) to those in need of them.

    Hi all:D
Was MIA yesterday as had an awful migraine so got nothing done:(. It was the worst one I have had since the 6 weeks of constant migraine last summer. It got worse last night so OH packed me off to bed at 9pm after I was almost sick all over and couldnt see:o. Feel so much better today:D.
DS has settled back in school, happy to have his routine back:D. I have been doing some thinking about the dreadful behaviour we had all weekend and I think it may be partly diet related. I make all my own food inc bread, biscuits cakes etc and he never has processed food or drinks. As it was hols he asked for a bottle of lemonade as a treat and he chose some shop cakes and also snaffled a packet of fingers:o. he had them all on Fri and Sat morning which was when it all started. I think additives etc def have an effect on him. Have ordered a book about it all and whilst I dont think I can do the full GF/CF diet with him I will be strict with sugar and additives.
General tidying today and making cookies and 2 loaves bread.
Also looking for recipes to print off for DS meals.
Sunnygirl glad the course is going well and :Tto DH on the job:j
    MSD hope you are ok
Topsy sorry you are having so much trouble with the boys:(. As you prob know DS has ADHD as well as autism. We have huge problems with aggression and anger and all they seem to suggest at his unit is Ritalin but I don`t want that for him. He eats and sleeps little enough as it is:eek: and I do not want him zombified ( although they tell me it wont do that as it is a stimulant?). They did say many parents report "loss of sparkle"...who wants that for their child:o. Also they said that as it sorts out the ADHD it will probably make the autism more pronounced:eek:. I may be stating the obvious, if so forgive me, but have you looked at diet at all? The book I have from Amazon is the autism and adhd cookbook http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kid-friendly-ADHD-Autism-Cookbook-Gluten-Free/dp/159233394X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1266919825&sr=8-2....you can look inside the book on the amazon site. My heart goes out to you as it must be so hard having 2 boys with it as they will undoubtably rub each other up the wrong way:o
Sunnyday just saw you on another thread talking about the 76 tins of tuna......Fatcat says when can she move in:rotfl:
Sandy was thinking about you and your cat last night wondering how things went at the vet:(:o, gentle hugs to you
  • Morning all.

NPM - glad you're feeling better after your migraine. They're not something I suffer from very often, but are horrendous the few times I do get them.

Julie - I'm sure your daughter will take it better than you think, after all its your health it is affecting.

Taplady - Hope funeral goes as well as can be expected.

Flutterby - glad you feel a bit better.

Pen-Pin - glad yesterday went well. Hope you feel better soon.

Sunnygirl - Great news on DH getting a job.

Mioliere - Nice to hear from you.

Still in pain here. Phoned work, as think it unlikely I'll be in this week, and have got someone due back on bail on Thursday which needs sorting out.

Need to do a bit of shopping today which I could do without really, will dose up on painkillers first!

:jSunnygirl- great news about DH job, well done to him.

Wish my DS1 could get something, its over 12 months now.The 2nd interview he was told he had by the agency has never materialised,so that 40 mile round trip for the 1st was a complete waste of petrol and his v.limited money:mad:

Anyway,I hope all the feeling poorly people improve soon,PP,Candygirl,Julie67 & Flutterby.

DH birthday today,he liked his various pressies, and I am going to make a cake. His favourite is a Victoria sponge with jam/buttercream,and glace icing. It was tradition when he was young to call it 'me mams cake',I think it was his dad who liked it baked by DH grandma.

I am going to the library shortly to return a crochet book I borrowed. It was due back yesterday,so I logged in to my account to renew it,but s.o.else has reserved it and it wouldn't let me renew,so there 'll be a bit of a fine  I have just found it,been looking for ages and had the place upside down,I think DH put it somewhere when we had the viewers to the house a couple of weeks ago- I've been under the bed, practically taken it apart in case it had slipped under. After another hour and a half this morning ,finally found it between a load of magazines in a chest. At least I won't have to pay for a replacement though, which is what I thought I'd have to do :o
    Right ,better go.'See' you later.x
