Another NSD for me - I class mine as a day where I spend NOTHING - but then again I do not count any Direct Debits or Standing orders as this is living expenses - i.e. rent, water,gas,etc... everything else is a spend... so 10 so far for me this month but then it does help to be cooped up in doors with my recovering hip injury...

Ebay has been my source of spending on Saturday - got some wool to complete my socks and some really reasonably priced moccasins with real wool inside - I do suffer from the cold - have managed to get a chilblain from this weather - first one in years!
Well lets see - I dip in and out of MSE all the time but I still come back - have done since 2007!!!

    Hi Pammyj74

I guess everyone has their own way of doing it. My NSD's are those days that I don't spend money on items excluding Bills (like the one's you pay every month/quarter and mortgage) and anything I've been saving up for all year like Holidays, Car Expenses

But you do it your own way

    HTH

EDIT: I don't have any kids to 'worry' about so I guess its easy with just myself to consider

NSD #8 for me today :T

I did have to go to the PO - but not counting that as DS1 will be paying me back!! He was on a train to the airport when I found his keys in the tub by my front door, and he needs two of them desperately...... Not sure how he's going to get into his room at the barracks tonight (or until they arrive in Germany), but that's his look-out ;)

Tomorrow won't be an NSD, as I've decided to have a trip into town for a few 'luxury' bits I've not bought in sooooo long I can't remember (like properly fitted/fitting underwear :o ) Just trying to figure out whether it's going to be cheaper to drive or catch the bus - and I think the cost of petrol used tips it in favour of the bus......

I started off this year by counting an NSD as one I didn't buy groceries, but changed this month such that the only exclusions are now Direct Debits, presents, dog expenses, car expenses (including petrol) and window cleaner.

I saw mention of 'accents'. I've never considered myself to have one, but was recently told I have a mixed Lancashire/Manchester one (I'm a Lancashire lass by birth, who moved to Manchester 8.5 years ago). But I do know that if I spend more than 15 mins or so talking to someone with a strong accent from anywhere (whether on the phone or face-to-face) I start to pick that one up -- and often worry they think I'm 'taking the P' out of them !!!

    # 8 for me yesterday but not without hardship - had to steal OH's mother's day card that he'd bought and not posted to give to my mum as we were going over for dinner - how low can you stoop?! :o

  • NSD number 5 today! :j I'm very pleased to have made some progress again after a few spending days (LSDs mostly, but nevertheless....).

I'm hoping to get a few more before the end of the week.

    Best wishes, all.

Well done on the NSDs, jintyb, and on learning to knit - it's never to late to learn. Knitting's a great distraction and you can make all sorts of things once you have some experience (and confidence:)).
Thanks solventsoon - knittting slow but sure!
Glad to hear it, jintyb, stick at it, you'll soon be an expert and there are great patterns for all sorts of things available nowadays:)

do you class a nsd as spending absolutely nothing or a day where you dont spend anything that you havent budgeted for?
I dont class petrol as a spend or kids school trip/club money
There are no hard and fast rules here, pammyj74, BigMumma always says it's our challenge so we make the rules for ourselves. I class an NSD as not spending either actual cash or using a credit or debit card - I don't include direct debits for bills, etc, etc.

    Hi everyone
keiss - hope the cold gets better soon (I had one last week and it was horrible:()
curlygirl - thanks for reminding me about the magazine offer - I read the email and promptly forgot about it. Out tomorrow so will buy the magazine:)
Another NSD for me today, been working all day so no chance to spend anything:).
Re accents - I have a southern accent with a northern twang appearing occasionally (from Essex originally, been living "oop north" for a few years now, so the odd flat vowel is creeping in:rotfl:)

Well done everyone, we're all making great progress :). Hugs to anyone not doing so well.

  • Another one for me! Sadly have to post some cd's to music magpie on Tuesday so thats a spend day for me :(

BigMumma just read your post sorry it took me so long to reply, my experience with daily clicks is reading how well everyone else is doing and getting EagerLearner's guide to doing it......and then not doing anything with it:rotfl: so not the best person for advice Im afraid.

Well done to everyone else, I'm truly amazed at how people with families and others to support can manage so well at keeping the finances in order and feed/clothe them with a good standard of living. I struggle and there's just me
