Htc hd2

hi,

Was wondering if anyone could help?

i have an HTC HD2 and am unable to send text messages. I am obviously on the phone to both my network provider and HTC support but don't seem to be getting anywhere fast.

Just wondered if anyone else had encountered this and maybe had a solution?

Thanks

  • I have this phone and have not ahd this problem but have seen it on forums. There is a fix for this, if you search on google for "text problem HTC HD2" I am sure it will pull up what you need.
  • Hi Tonyfaestoney,
This phone is on my list of 'possibles' and was wondering if you like it or not? It's always better to get an actual human beings point of view rather than a magazine review done by a techie person! Ta
  • HTC phones are good phones.

    I have had plenty.

Orange SPV m600 A re badged HTC
    Orange SPV m700
    Htc Tytn ii

They are Windows mobile phones and I much prefer them to Blackberrys and IPhones.

The Blackberry and Iphones do not handle flash media meaning many websites do not work on these phones.

A WM phone with an Opera or Skyfire browser turns the phone into a full PC brwsing experience, with every possible website loading and operating as it should on a full PC or laptop.

Blackberry and Iphone can be restricted with no flash media capabilities.

And to be honest the Windows media phones were doing (4years ago) everything and more a Iphone can only do now!

I agree with haveagoade, I'd been using WM phones from HTC ever since Orange released the original SPV until my last upgrade when I went for a Sony. The worst decision of my mobile phone buying life! Next upgrade will be in May and I will certainly be going back to HTC.
Many of my friends and colleagues have iPhones and I don't see why. They look nice, granted, but you can't have a spare battery, you can't expand the memory, the camera's rubbish and they're overpriced.
If you want a smartphone, that can do smart things then I suggest a WM or Android (Google) phone made by HTC and don't follow the drones that buy iPhones because they're shiny.
The HD2 is the best phone on the market at the moment. Period.

The HD2 text messaging bug is due to the SenseUI messaging application, if you use the standard Winmo one instead, you'll find that the messages will work fine.
  • Thanks Guys, It's top of my list at the moment, upgrade due tomorrow, not holding out any hope of getting it for a reasonable deal on my current network (t-mobile) but quite willing to switch to virgin if I have to, they're doing pretty good deals just now.
    Thanks again
  • HD2 is one of the best phones on the market in terms of technical specs. Its screen has twice the resolution of the iPhone and looks unbelieveable. Its processor is as fast as mid-range PCs were a few years ago. And because it runs on Windows Mobile it has a large developer community behind it making tweaks to the operating system and software.

If you want a large store where you can spend money on pointless "apps" then buy an iPhone. If you want an ocean of software all of it infinitely hackable, get the HD2.

The phone is pretty amazing. I am not a techno-phobe but am not up to speed certainly with this phone and what it can do. The screen is amazing, but the camera is not great...if you were counting on this being a good camera. Other than that I have been too busy at work to really play about with it. Speaking of work, you can access your works e-mail system and get notified of incoming mails, as well as Hotmail etc.

From what I have read on forums and somebody else has mentioned here, you can tweak this phone something rotten, i didn't even understand half the things listed you could do, there are loads and loads.

As somebody else said, everyone has i-phones and I wanted something different, I like it...a lot and in my opinion, better than an i-phone.

FYI, I just upgraded on t-mobile, I said O2 had offfered me a deal and they offfered 600mins, unlimited text and internet for £30pm 24 month contract. I am a little annoyed as I reckon I could have talked them down to 18months but hey-ho, next time.
  • Thanks again Tony,
It's available on Virgin for £25 a month on an 18 month deal (500 mins/unltd texts/unltd email) but with an upfront cost of £90. I reckon this works out at £490 for the 18 months(2 months free for existing customers), the best on the t-mobile site equates to £622 over 18 months, so unless they can match Virgin I'll be jumping ship!
  • Thanks guys. I ended up just reinstall ing the ROM programme and it fixed it :)
This really is a great phone. I wish I could sync my facebook calendar with the phone calendar though.
Also looking for the java app and flash ap so I can watch stuff. If anyone has it that'd be fab - if now I'll keep searching.
