Hi all....lunchbreak log in for me.
I ran 2.5k this morning at the gym which is the furthest I have done at once and it took me just over 20 mins. Which means that, with practice, I should be able to finish the RFL in a not-too-embarrassing time. I know it should be better running outside as I am only running on a treadmill at the moment, but I really enjoyed it.
Nice one Suzy
Just had an M&S noodle soup for lunch - so tasty£3.50 though, won't be doing that too often!

RFL isn't really a good place for a fast time, as you tend to have to dodge thousands of walkers for the first km, but there are not that many people who run sub 30 minute RFLs, as it's just not that sort of event, so your time certainly wont be embarrassing.
I would put good money on it that a 40 minute 5k on a treadmill will equate to AT WORST a 35 minute outdoor 5k once you get accustomed to running on roads. My treadmill 5ks are around 38 minutes but am teetering on the brink of sub 30 minutes outside (haven't run a 5k for a while, but would be interested to do one to see if my time has improved actually).
Oooh, I really want to go for a run now!! Wonder if I could persuade someone to watch the kids for an hour tonight!

Thats interesting Snags - most people suggest that treadmill running is easier (havent done it so cant comment personally) as you dont have the uneven pavements, hills etc and the action is different...is it the heat/boredom you find difficult or something else?0

I find running outside easier now than I did....its the boring monotony of the treadmill that kills me......
I certainly find running outside easier than a treadmill, the weather and surroundings make it so much easier psychologically.Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford
