Sorry to hear about your news Karen :( I'm glad he didn't suffer.

Hope you're soon feeling better candygirl. My DD was poorly yesterday, but thankfully fine this morning, although a little weak as she didn't eat anything yesterday.

I took the girls fencing today, but don't have the energy for kick boxing, so that has been postponed until Wednesday. Today has been one of those days where things that can go wrong, did, so I ended up sitting on the train, crying, hoping no-one was looking my way :o:o:o

I'm ok now though, it was just one of those things :o

I stopped off at our local baguette shop on the way home and picked up a salad box, so will have that with the gammon for later. There's an ironing pile building up, so I need to think about getting that out the way.

The beds were stripped and changed the other day, so the bed linen is still hanging around. It has dried but I haven't got around to putting it away yet :o The house will be cleaned tomorrow so it can be done then :D

Hope you've all had a good day so far.

    Afternoon everyone.

Lovely day here, but very cold.

Been to Camhs meeting this morning re DS2 who has Adhd and complex learning difficulties. They were meant to do a trial with Ritalin last September, anyway with my ds breaking his leg and one thing and another they are looking at doing it before the end of summer term. The only thing I find difficult to deal with is the daily battles when asked to do something and the aggressiveness towards me. I am also very reluctant too give my child what basically is an amphetimine, just wondered if anyone on this thread has any experience of it. This afternoon was spent in a meeting with school and childrens and young people service, with the latter saying there is nothing more they can do to support me or Thomas and basically it is up to camhs(medication) and myself(parenting) to deal with it.

It doesn't help with the above when my ds1(19) is being argumentative, abusive and disruptive at home, had 2 hours of it yesterday, think it is time he found his own place now.

Anyway enough waffle, today has not been so os apart from washing dishes, hoovering and wm been on. Out for tea for cheese, pate and wine at my friends house so will be nice to meet up with the gang.

MSD - You sound so organised, wish I was more like you.
Happy Birthday to Shez, Mrs N9eav and Mr Butterfly Brain .
Pennypicher - Thinking of you and your family.
Kassaw - Sorry to hear of your loss. Thinking of you all.
Sunnygirl - Hope the 1st day of your course went well.
Jc2703 - Stickt Toffee Pudding is my absolute favourite, could you share the recipe please. I used to have a Rick Stein recipe which I think he got from a Hotel in Grasmere, unfortunately I have lost my piece of paper with it on.

flutterbyuk25/candygirl - hope you are both feeling better.
Pipkin - sending ((Hugs)), hope your day got better.
    Sandy71 - sending ((Hugs))
Ladyshopper - hope your pain is easing, I agree that you should go and see another Dr.
Bitsy - Sending((Hugs)), Long term tiredness can make things so much worse.
NPM - hope you DS settled back into school.

Enjoy the rest of your day. Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take Care.

Sorry to hear about your afternoon topsy, and your other son's behaviour.

It must be really difficult for you.

Have you joined a support group for parents with children who have ADHD. You may find you get more of an idea about things like Ritalin, through one of those.

My own view is that it isn't something I would want my children to have, but then, they don't have ADHD, so perhaps easy for me to say???

I hope you can sort something out with your other son too, because the atmosphere in the home could also be having an affect on Thomas. Do you know why he is acting up? [You don't need to answer on here, I just wondered if you knew, as that may help you towards resolving the issue].

    (((HUGS))) hunny :)

    Afternoon/Evening everyone.

Been thinking of you today PP, hugs to you, your OH and the family.

I hope all who are ill are feeling a bit better now, I had something similar about a week ago. I felt perfectly fine then got ready to go to bed and all of a sudden felt nauseous and within 5 minutes was sick! Luckily I was only sick once then managed to go to sleep but I felt a bit nauseous on and off the next day. I don't know if it was a bug because I was only sick the once but it came on so suddenly.

Martyn continues to get stronger day by day, he can now get about on his own but is still a little unsteady when he's tired. He can also now turn over in bed by himself but still needs a bit help getting up in the morning and getting up off a chair. We're keeping an eye on his wound (full length of his stomach ) as it's infected but he's on antibiotics so hopefully it should clear up. We sort of expected it to happen as I don't think he's ever had a wound just heal up normally. :( You'll all be pleased to hear his waterworks are now back to normal, :D the doctors think it was just the after-effects of the sepsis and trauma of the op.

Slowly getting back to OS, I've got some YS broccoli that needs using up so I think I'll make a big pan of soup and freeze in portions. OH hasn't had much appetite so I've been giving him whatever he's fancied, tonight it's fish from the chippy. Not very OS but I'm just pleased he's eating and as his appetite returns we can get back to normal.

Hugs to all who need or want one.

Sunny girl I have thought about preparing sandwiches for the week , do they go soggy? what about salad stuff in them?
I don't put salad on them before I freeze just the meat/cheese/tuna etc & butter. Today's were chicken & sweet chilli sauce and they were gorgeous :D

Thank you for the good wishes re the course - it was fab :T I felt rejuevenated when I got home at 4pm but am shattered now! I think it's the extra early start, not sleeping brilliantly last night and taking everything in thats done it. I've promised the younger 2 that I'll watch Glee with them at 9pm then I'm off to bed :rotfl:

Pen Pin Hope that today went off as ok as these things can do for you all.

Flutterby & CandyGirl Hope you're both feeling better by now. I had a similar bug last week & it floored me for 2 days :( I was so hungry when I finally recovered though!

Off for a quick surf then a bath & a relaxing evening :)
