  • I must be as soft as butter,There I am snuggled down in my nice warm bed, and the phone goes.
    'Yes' I mumble,
'Nanny how much do you love me ?' DGD Katie bright as a button at 7 in the morning.
'Lots and lots what do you want ?'
'Well a Nanny who loved her eldest, dearest, granddaughter would love to take her to college this morning wouldn't she?'
'Would she ,why's that then',was my rather grumbly reply
'Cos its chucking it down and I will get soaked and you wouldn't want me to go down with pneaumonia of something would you especially as my birthdays next month'
So here I am having been suckered out of bed by my eldest dearest granddaughter, and will shortly be going to pick her up and taking her to college so she doesn't get wet.
I must be nuts, but she is quite a lovley lass for all her noise, and I would only have laid in bed in the warm reading and drinking tea and thinking of all the poor saps out in the rain anyway:)
Hope everyone has a good day rain or not

  • _pale_ I have never felt so ill in my entire life. I went to bed fine bout 10.45 after having a glass of water, at 11pm I was (TMI alert!) projectile vomiting in my bathroom :( and it didn't stop all night. Once everything had come up I was still retching and could not even keep a sip of water down. At one point around 4am it was so bad I almost rung my Mum! I haven't been sick for about 90mins now. Didn't get any sleep last night. I have a really bad pain in my lower back (feels like my kidneys are on fire).

The worst bit is that I never actually get sick (other than colds or alcohol induced!), and today I'm meant to start a new team of young people on the programme we run. I've spent the last hour trying to get hold of colleagues to make other arrangements for someone to cover me as there is no way I can work today.

Hopefully I'll be better by the end of the day. I really want a cwtch of my mum, but I also don't want to give her whatever I have.

Thinking of you today PP. (((HUGS))) to you and yours :(

Hope your cat is ok Sandy. Good luck with the vet visit.

Fingers crossed you will be feeling better soon flutterbyuk.

    Morning all :)

    Wet and miserable here.

DDs are off to fencing, so I'm going to do lunch shortly.

I have a gammon joint in the SC for later and a dark wash on, at the minute.

Nothing much else to report really. Next door are being really annoying with their loud music, so I'm having to sort that.

    Hope everyone is doing ok.

(((HUGS))) to those in need. Will be back to catch up later :)

  • Good morning all! :)

Back to normality today, kids back in nursery and school and DH and I in work

Happy birthday to Shez, Mrs N9eav and belated happy birthday to Julie
PenPin hope the funeral goes as well as these things can, and that you manage to get some sleep tonight
JackieO that reminded me of doing the same sort of thing to my older sister when she started driving :D
Flutterby hope that you are feeling better soon sweetie, big :grouphug: in the meantime
Butterflybrain enjoy your night in and happy bday to your OH too!

Had a busy few days off so don't really feel like I've had a break at all. But on the plus side I've managed to start a really good declutter of the kitchen and managed to get rid of a full bin bag of old and chipped cups, tea towels, pots and bowls :j and gave the surfaces a good deep clean as well. I've got a new BM coming this week (with some money from my bday, and a little to treat myself!). Having a scotch broth for dinner tonight which I put in the SC this morning, that should last for a good few lunches this week as well. Not sure what to have for lunch today as was not too organised this morning :o

Hope everybody has a good day,

    MMM- Normality?? There's a concept . . . :rotfl:

Just a quick trip in, it's raining/sleeting/snowing here depending on when you look out the window and of course the wind is beginning to pick up too! Main goals before lunchtime are laundry (tis started), changing the bed, hoovering and running the duster around the lounge which I didn't do yesterday.

There is a sausage casserole in the SC, will just be doing another veg for BH and rolls with it not decided yet if there will be any baking done today or not. Won't be much going on outside that's for sure, except going back and forth with the laundry as the washer and dryer are in the workshop - that's my fresh air for today!

    May be back. . . .
