I last bought a large box of bold reduced to half price in wilkos because the top of the box was damaged,I mixed it with a large box of asda sp powder in a big plastic container.6 mths later its still going strong.
I do on average 4 washes a week.Don't know if I'll be so lucky to find another bargain but definately will mix whatever I buy nxt time with the sp one.:)0 -
I'm thinking of making the homemade laundry detergent too. I'm thinking of using either a vanish type stain removal bar rather than regular soap bar. Would this work still?0

I find that Asda Sp is very good - and my friend who is a real brand snob and has fallen on hard times has started to use it and says that is just as good as many of the branded ones - I am slowly but surely converting her to OSBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

The big box normally lasts me for about 4 months at a time, which is handy given that my nearest Lidl is a 3 hour ferry crossing and then an hour in the car away!
DH has sensitive skin and we've found that Formil doesn't aggravate it, so tend to buy a box every time we're away.
Is lidls one of the cheapest? It is very handy for us.0 -
The Lidl washing liquid is less than £2 for a 20 wash bottle ( but I am quite stingy and get more washes out out of it)
I haven`t bought one of their huge boxes of powder for a while but I think they are around £40 -
Hi kingston,
As your thread has dropped down the Old Style board I've moved it over to the Food Shopping & Groceries board to see if you can get more replies.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Yes we get the 12.7 kg kirkland signature laundry powder may not seem
'cheap' but it has lasted us 8 months and is consentrated (i know i spelt that wrong!)
It comes in a big plastic tub- hubby used the last one as a car washing bucket0 -
I buy Tesco Non-Bio tablets and use one tablet per wash (unless there's any particularly dirty or stained clothes, which normally there isn't) so I find a box of 48 tablets lasts for about 3 weeks.0
