I use fairy, which isn't very cheap, but I only use about 1/3 of the amount sugested on the box. I have always found everything comes out clean, and a big box lasts for ages.

Asda's (if you can get to one or have delivered) Smart Price Biological is about the cheapest around and I find it perfectly acceptable. 69.6p per kg for the large packs. That's gone up from 50p per kg before the recession and it didn't used to be worth buying the big packs but now there's about 30p difference in the price per kg:eek:. I, also, gave up adding soda when the price rocketed.
We also use the Asda SP powder and it does the job, I only add a scoop of soda crystals though, so the bag lasts as long as the box of powder so it still works out cheaper than anything else we've used0 -
Biggest problem IMO as a parent of 2 with eczema and a partner with it is using too much powder. I can use bio no problem at all but I use a tablespoon of it at the most with the same of soda crystals, making sure it leaves as little as possible on the clothing means less of a reaction (makes sense really) The other huge issue that causes reactions is frequently switching them. I'd use something for at least 2 weeks before changing even back to another. One day I might be more organised...........

Had to post and dash, another couple of things. The only one to set DP and DSs off very bad was Surf, they didn't settle after 3 weeks so switched. I do also find liquid better than powder when it comes to reactions probably because being liquid it leaves less residue, we're using Persil concentrate liquid I got cheap (coloured biological), so I only need a small measure I use which holds about 6-7ml, tablespoon of soda crystals and even gets my 3 grotty peoples clothes clean (and linen for the 2 bed wetting boys)One day I might be more organised...........

Possibly a slug of white vinegar in the fabric conditioner drawer will ensure thorough rinsing for sensitive skin.0
