Till spits now on Tesco self-scan

I had a till spit for the first time ever today on self-scan in Tesco. It's worth looking out for any abandoned ones as well.

I think the barcodes only work with the origin's Clubcard.

Till spits are tokens that give you extra points for buying a certain product, they "spit" out with your receipt.
You see them for sale on Ebay so I think anyone can use them

That's not the case. Anyone can pick up a till-spit for extra points, you would never get a query on this as there is no ID on them. You can also use personalised extra-points vouchers (with a stranger's name on) with any clubcard if you're a bit brazen like me.

I bought some on eBay to get my points up and was only ever asked once why their were several surnames in my pile of points vouchers, I said I was doing my Mum's shopping (true, but they weren't my Mum's vouchers!).

When you all get your next lot of Clubcard vouchers in August, ask relatives/friends if they got any 'extra points' vouchers that they will not be using. Either swap some around between you or accept any given to you, go and buy the products and your points total will be well boosted by Christmas!

    :T

P.S. I mentioned a theory on another thread this week that Tesco seems to issue most till-spits on Mondays if you spend a small amount (obviously using a clubcard). Well I tried this today, spent £5 and got 2 till-spits together...!

They scan with any clubcard, whether they should is another debate. I have used other peoples - swaps/ebay with no problem. Nice to know they are coming out of self scans now, I'll test it out tomorrow. I had 2 till spits today a double points and 25 points for domestos - I spent £45.

In the past, I have seen them come out of the till, yet I haven't been given them.

Oh to be a checkout chick !!!

Just to bump this up the thread list...............

Did anyone else get till-spits today, possibly multiple ones, like me and Dormouse?

Maybe Monday is the day to go & spend a fairly small amount several times? See my theory mentioned above, shall more of us try next Monday? If not much response today I will try to remember to start a thread on Sunday to remind everyone.
