Treasure-hunting at home challenge

Not quite treasure hunting, more changing the use of no longer needed throws.

When we moved needed new sofas for our much larger room. Old small ones (falling apart anyway) completely clashed with carpet so bought some cheap throws until we could order the new furniture. Afterwards turned the throws into curtains as a termporary measure as I wanted some good quality thick ones & didn't want to rush into getting them.

So many people commented how nice they looked that they are still being used as curtains now, 2 years later. To think I was originally looking to spend £200-300 on curtains. That was pre MSE days though.

Now I am very much into what else could that be used for.

MSE mentality creeps up on us doesn't it?:D

While I was sorting out my pile of wool I found an 11oz baby bottle - saved 4 quid as DD needed a bigger one for Dgs. Have been knitting Beartix Potter toys for Dgs's new bedroom and knew I had a Jemima Puddleduck 3/4 finished - no I have 2 of them!! Going to start upstairs tomorrow.[/QUOTE

I found a baby shoe in my knitting once. I know lots of people find sleeping cats :D Which reminds me of the time my cat carried her kittens from the airing cupboard to snuggle inside my knitting bag.

Here's a photo of the lacy frock that I dug up. I just had to knit one sleeve and It fits my bunny perfectly!

And although you can't see it (LOL), here is picture of my bag made with free handles from Simply Kitting. I needed a lining fabric and after a good rummage came up with a red cloth originally used for bread rolls in a hotel.

I have planted some seedlings into old margarine tubs and tin cans and a washing up bowl.
