If you only got it yesterday, give it chance to train to your line. Can take 10 days and no one will investigate until this time period has elapsed.

    ;)

I am thinking of switching to Sky for broadband and phone calls deals. The prices seem attractive - my only reservation is whether they are reliable.

Can anyone provide any feedback, good or bad, please?

    TIA

  • Wasters, nearly 2 months after trying to get Sky Broadband (and after numerous phonecalls) have I got Sky Broadband? NO!!

Pure incompetence on Skys behalf. I have a 'marker' on my phone line which is apparently stopping me from receiving a broadband signal. The marker was put on there by Sky in the first place!! Nearly 2 months down the line they call back yesterday to say that they have removed it... finally... only to be told by BT that Sky actually haven't done anything and the marker is still on the line

Sounds a very familiar story zim_zimmer. Luckily I'm connected now but getting here has been very difficult! I would suggest that you click the 'Watchdog' link earlier in this post. It's a hot topic at the moment so they may be interested in the story.

5 weeks since my activation date , and still no service - although after emailing I did get a call back.. issues at my exchange.

Note they charge a £40 activation fee on some packages ( the routers free! ) ... wonder how long before I demeand it back..... maybe after they have connected >

I wouldn't hold out much hope. When I complained all I was offered was a £5 discount on my first bill. I'm on the free package so that doesn't really help!!! Having said that, they haven't taken the direct debit for my Sky TV out this month - maybe they are giving it to me for free as a good will offering? (or maybe not)

They have just called again ( much better than me having to wait in their queues)
Seems to be a problem at exchange .... I know there's often issues at my exchange!

Can you apply for internet at the same time as applying for their sky tv packages as a new customer?
