  • Why would anyone buy a TMF/MBG and not use the product? Thats just giving your money to someone then writing to someone to get your money back, often minus the postage :rotfl: I'm sure nobody is stupid enough to buy these for the sake of it. Plus many of these are looking for positive as well as negative feedback. I don't see how it is possible to abuse such a system, unless maybe you own 6000 PO Box addresses!

You know exactly what I meant by not using the product. The way to abuse the system is by giving entirely spurious feedback, such as 'The powder failed to shift one of these 99 stains' when according to posts here people hadn't even tried the product or by writing off to state of a product is that 'it's rubbish' when this doesn't have a basis in fact.

I can't see any justification for doing that. And I'll keep reiterating this because people seem to think I'm having a go at everybody on this thread - which I'm not - most people seem to be quite happy to participate in TMFs in the right way. Some though are just a tad grasping.
  • Back to the original thread. Any new Try Me Frees? :rotfl:

Do you think they might query how you used it all up so quickly? I know some MBGs (like the Aquafresh one) require you to wait a set length of time before applying, to ensure that you did use it.

And speaking of using things up, I'm still only halfway through the VO5 tube of hair stuff and the closing date is end of December. I've had it for months! I might squeeze it into another bottle or something, and then I'll be able to send it off :p

Thanks, Dormouse. The terms say try for three weeks so I will keep a close eye on my till receipt date! Good luck with the VO5....still have yet to find that one

Just got a weird letter from Chicago Town Pzza saying I did not include the bar code - I'm sure that I did - although obviously the rest of the pakaging is in the bin a long time ago how should I deal with this?

I'm tempted to send it all back with the letter telling them that they must have lost the bar code - I cant help thinking that they have gone out of their way to make certain that I'm not well disposed towards them in the futrre.

Is there some way I could be scamming them by having the form and a till recipt buit not the bar code? If there is it must be quite obscure. Why would they do this? I only tried the Pizza because of the offer and it wasn't as good as a takeaway .... Argh sorry for the rant but honestly how stupid is this?

Ok so here is what I'm doing - I'm writing on the letter and sending it bak saying

    Christine

Obviously you are not kidding but hold on a second!
Do you honestly think that should have kept the box for the last five weeks in the off chance you would claim that I had not sent you some bit of it? Since I have not kept the box I either threw the barcode away with the box or you guys lost it while opening the mail. Either way you don't dispute that I bought the product, tried it and felt it was not as good as take away.

    Go-on pay up.

    O

I'll let you know how i get on...

Very stupid and annoying, you're right!  It is completely bizarre - I mean, you had the form and the receipt, so you obviously did buy the product.

I would be tempted to write to them and express my disappointment - talk of putting potential customers off the brand!

I have to say I sometimes worry about TMFs where you have to send in lots of little bits, like barcodes and tokens. All it takes is someone not paying attention when they open the envelope and things could get lost very easily. I usually tend to staple or sellotape all the bits together, but don't always remember. Have never had a problem yet, but can see it happening very easily. :o
  • Hi, Boots are currently running this at half price - £11.25 instead of £22.50! :T I think the offer is on until early January. I bought it yesterday as its what I useanyway. Do you think I can send my 'old' bottle and 'new' receipt to Olay for the MBG??? Has anyone had success with this one?!?

Loads of Olay has the MBG, day and night creams, body creams, facial washes, even the sets of stuff you can buy. Only things that don't seem to offer it are eye cream and the new stuff they've brought out. HTH
Student loan no more ;) paid off

Just a quick reminder that the following TMFs end at the end of December so need sending out ASAP if you still haven't done it!

    Glist dishwasher tablets
    VO5 hair stuff
    Scotch-Brite cloths/scourers
    Dentyl mouthwash
    Ocean Spray cranberries
