well done holly:T i put on 6
good luck everyone xx
Have just been sitting here thinking of biscuits, but you lot managed to make me go to the fridge and get an apple instead! Thanks ladies:T
DD1 back to school today, DD2 on the sofa having been up all night with the dreaded tummy bug. I might see if she wants to laugh at me doing Wii Just Dance in a bit.
Hollyh I really admire your points counting - you obviously have a will of iron!
Well done on eating the apple instead :T. I don't have a will of iron at all and some days i really struggle to stick to my points, however i do have a generous allowance and can still eat quite a lot which helps. I'm not sure i'll do so well when it goes down.:cool:margaretclare wrote: »I have been losing weight with the help of www.weightlossresources.co.uk, keeping a food diary etc as they suggest. Howver, weight loss is quite slooooow. What is happening, however, is that I am fitting into smaller clothes. Just about 11 3/4 stones and I'm now in size 16, bra size down from 44DD to 42D.
What I find is that some kind of regular fitness regime is essential. I've just come back from chair-based keep-fit at a retirement complex. I also go to aqua-aerobics on Mondays and adult beginners' swimming Tuesdays. In between I do exercise with Leanne Grose's DVD: Leanne's Chair Workout and/or with weights and stretch tubing.
For anyone wanting to get into a smaller size, as the title of this thread suggests, I would say from experience that some kind of fitness routine is equally as important as watching what you eat. And sitting there thinking about biscuits is NOT the way to do it! A first step could be a massive clear-out of your cupboards and fridge etc - don't buy any foods, 'treats' or snacks that you know are no good for you! If they're not there you can't eat them.
I agree with you about exercise, i know from past experience the more exercise i do the less weight comes off but the quicker i drop the dress sizes. I don't think banning anything does any good though because it just makes me want it more.:o That's what i like about the WW points system i can still eat whatever i like as long as i've got enough points for it. I can have chocolate but i need to cut back a little on the rest of the days food. This works for me because i work out whether it's worth it or not and most of the time it's not and i don't bother.0 -
Today i have used 25/25 points allowance and i haven't done any exercise. It's that time of the month, i've got an ingrowing toenail and my knee is bad so the last thing i've felt like doing is getting on the wii fit. I have got a nice long walk planned for Sunday and i'll try and get on the wii fit tomorrow, if not i'll go for a walk because that doesn't seem to hurt my knee so much.
I forgot to say earlier i've ony got 2 items of size 20 clothes left.:j They're both a bit baggy but i think i'll get 1 more wear out of them before it's too much. I have to keep hoiking my size 18 jeans up as well but as i've only got 2 pairs of 18's i can't get rid yet. I'm going to have to see what else i've got in an 18, i know i got rid of a lot last year.
Who else has weighed today ? How's everyone doing?0 -
ohh holly, i hope u feel better soon !
i did no exercise but at the same time i was no eating too much, i just wasnt in the mood. I haven't lost any weight this week, but it is funny cos around my waist and hips i do look a bit smaller and people is comenting that i have lost weight!Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -
So far so good today, i've just spent two hours gardening. Ds2 and i have been planting vegetables and flowers, i've cleaned and refilled his water tray and cleaned the rabbits out. I'm shattered now though. I discovered oat cakes and pineapple jam go very well together earlier, it's very delicious and not many points which is good.0

Am 4 lb lighter than a week ago. I haven't attributed this all to proper weight loss as think I had a bit of pre menstrual bloating but am still pleased the scales have showed a loss!!!
Just really tried to watch what i was eating during the day at work and to eat my dinner straight when I got home rather than to wait and then pick inbetween. Also no alcohol in the week.
Been a little more relaxed today but no too bad at all. I also bought some 'slim aid' tea which even if it doesnt work is herbal and caffeine free so will be fluids and also a Tisserand aromatherapy roll on I bought from TKMaxx!!0 -
Well done squirrelchops.:T Despite eating far too many oat cakes with pineapple jam today i have used 24/25 points allowance and have done 2hrs gardening earning 5.5 bonus points. Ds2 has let slip that i have a box of chocolates for Mothers day tomorrow so i am intending to eat them. I won't however hide them away to eat alone like i normally do, i am going to share them with everyone therefore reducing what i eat
. We should be going for a nice long walk as long as it doesn't rain and as long as i'm good for the rest of the week it should be ok. I'm not going to worry about it too much.

I've been good today apart from eating 1/2 a layer of milk tray. I did share and there's still loads left:cool:. We went to Puzzlewood today and spent 2 hours walking around so i've earned 5.5 bonus points which will go some way to limiting the damage. Anyway it's only 1 day i'm not going to get worked up over it. I'm more worried about next weekend when it's OH's Birthday saturday and Ds1's Sunday two cakes plus at least one meal out. At least it'll be after i've weighed.;)
How's everyone else doing?0 -
Hello everyone :hello: I hope you don't mind if I join you all. I have been telling myself for ages that I need to lose weight and then not doing anything about it. Myself and OH are away on hols in 6 months time and I don't want to be all flabby and wobbly by the pool! I am currently 11 st 9 lbs and a size 16. I want to lose enough weight where I can stand to look at myself in the mirror and not cringe at what I see.
I think my diet is ok, but like a few others I have seen posting on here it's all the rubbish in between meals, and the fact that when I am bored, I eat. Anyway Mr Coffeeholic has polished off the choccie digestives for me (such a sacrifice :rotfl:) and there is no more rubbish in the house for me to eat.
I think I lack motivation to get up off my bum as well, I work odd hours occasionally at a desk job so I am sat down all day so as soon as I finish work its so tempting to just flop on the sofa and not move. But I am hoping that will change and I will be so ashamed at posting on here publicly that I have done absolutely nothing all day, and that will force me into doing something....well that's the theory anyway.
All the coffee in Columbia won't make me a morning person...

Welcome coffeeholic. That was very kind of Mr Coffeeholic to eat all the biscuits for you.:D
Today i've used 28/25 points allowance  it's those flipping Mothers Day chocolates:o. However, i walked for 20 mins this morning feeding the ducks with Ds2 and have done an hour of gardening earning 4 bonus points so it should be ok.:cool:0 -
oooh just realised I didn't post my weight last Thursday after I got weighed.... I lost another pound, so that's 5 1/2 altogether. Not sure I'll make the 7lbs by Friday though, what with having 2 big meals over the weekend and being given chocolates for Mother's Day! (My daughter went to a chocolate party and bought them before I was diagnosed diabetic). So I will be eating one chocolate a day for 10 days....!Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing
