Thanks for that - that's a really handy link. Looks like I may have missed the boat this year as it says to plant between Nov and Mar, but will bear it in mind for next winter. Not sure what loam-based potting compost is though!?

I didn't know what it was littleme96 so I googled it!

as far as i know because it has been such a cold long winter you should be ok to plant for a wee week or two yet ... dont quote me on that though

Phew I've finally pretty much finished with my seeds. I've planted my peppers, jalepenos, tomatoes, carrots aubergines, spring onions, but haven't anything big enough to put my radishes, beetroot, lettuce, cabbage and broccoli in unfortunately. 1st time grower in most things so this should be fun to see what happens. Also planted various flowers, sweet peas, poppies, marigolds, nemesias, etc, repotted my confused winter cactus as its starting to bud yet again for the 3rd time since october.

Afternoon all :) well i moved the tree and it looks decidedly better for it. I HAVE THINGS GROWING lol in the garden. Only problem is I didn't label anything so have no idea what is actually growing. Oh well it will be a lovely surprise!

Can anyone tell me what's eating my pea leaves? They look munched on. Other than that they have flowers on them whoop whoop!

Went away to the inlaws overnight last night and got back this evening to find that SOMETHING has been MUNCHING on my lovely radishes!! No idea what but have put some slug pellets down as a precaution.

My peas have found their stakes and are now clinging on for dear life, they're very cute:D Need to get some chicken wire tomorrow to wrap round the stakes for a bit of extra support. Tomatoes going okay, potted on my aubergines and will do the chillies tomorrow.

Touch wood, my onions have been trouble free- I shoved them in the ground, took the cloches off last week and they're going great guns.

    :) It's probably slugs.

I planted 72 peas last week and have about 50 (maybe) left. Can't put any slug pellets down as the rain is on and off and I don't want to put too much this early.

We're going to buy some nematodes this year and hoping that it will warm up soon so I can burst them!!

The other thing is to sprinkle bran as apparently they eat this until they explode. Copper tape to protect the fragile seedlings or something gritty so they won't climb across into it.

Midnight runs with scissors are also good.

Well my big gardening plans are on hold for this year. Hubby left yesterday so got too much to sort out to be thinking about masses of fruit, veg and flowers. :(

The things i've started I will carry on with, but I'll not be starting any new sowing now, other than carrot.(Cos i can bung them in and forget about them!).:o

Megan should get plenty of strawberrys and blueberrys this year so she'll be happy. The lottie is covered so that can sit till next year too! Hope all my seeds will be ok to use next year - with all my big plans i've loads of them!

Lost all motivation and excitement now.................................. b****y men!

finally finally finally today we have finished digging the house up in the garden ...hubby then flattned and levelled(ish) the plot and then he got out the spray paint ...

we sprayed out the size of the polytunnel trying different directions etc till i got a position i was happy with ...then we sprayed out the beds and thestrawberry planters etc ... i sat for ages just staring at it to see if it was where i wanted everything ...then imagined how it will look ... my imaginary garden looks amazing he he ...

i finally feel as if we are getting somewhere ...hubby and i have been digging this garden with a mini digger for nearly a month now ... the soil level is down a good few feet from where it started due to all the bricks (i kid you not more than one brick was over 2 mtr in length 1 mtr thick and 1 mtr wide ...blonde sandstone)

s have spent the last few hours drawing out my beds for my plant rotation gonna now plan it all out on paper so that when the polytunnel arrives it should just be a case of getting the beds in (gonna start to collect the wood for that next week) and planting what i can
What are you going to do with it all? I'm sure you could sell it
