My corgette experiement is showing some interesting results. Have planted some in the garden and they are doing horribly, the ones in the pots are doing really well. not sure why this is unless its something to do with the soil. Has anyone else noticed something similar?
How long does it take before pepper plants flower? Have got 3 indoors at various heights grown from seed but none are showing any signs of flowering :O(
Tip for mint incase anyone is as daft as me, managed to pick a load of mint as it was coming back through as thought it was a weed, if you put the bit you picked in a glass of water for a few weeks it will re-grow roots and can then be put back outside. (feel a bit stupid however for thinking that it was a weed but can never tell!!)0 -
Liz- I wouldn't worry! If mint was left to it's own resources it would totally act like one. That's why I keep it in pots cos it just goes mental!Feb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790

What size pots are you growing your courgettes? Will a Morrisons bucket be OK?
Also can I grow and aubergine in a pot (and what size)?
Thanks
Guess you might have planted by now but I started my courgettes in small pots and potted on into various sized ones, even the ones in the 6/8 inch pots seem to be ok and have produced a few courgettes already.0 -
We made a mint and cucumber yoghurt dip the other day, it was amazing!! I did the same as you in a previous house it was growing all under the brickwork down one side of the building thinking it was a weed. Tell you what it soon sprung back into life!!Ahhhh.... lemony fresh victory is mineee!!!0

Hi all, hope your veg growing is going well. The hose pipe ban starts here at 6am tomorrow so have just been out and give everyting a good soaking. I hve two empty water butts that need filling, I'm on a water meter and dread to think how much water I have used since having the veg plot.
Can anyone tell me how long it takes lettuce seeds to germinate? Planted some 10 days ago and nothing showing yet.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.
