How did you get yours? I asked for one with the wheelie bins and just got the wheelie bins ... Those would go great in my teeny tiny patio yard.

Please refer to post 2698. :p
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

I bought six strawberry plants this year. Three are producing strawberries. They are all producing lots of runners. Should I cut some of these off to give more strength to the main plant.

Also I have tip layered some of the runners into new pots and they have produced roots so have cut them off. Do I replant these into the ground or keep them in small pots for now?

Sorry for all the questions, I am so new to this!

Here are some pictures, carrots, salad leaves, peas, courgettes were all sown 15 May.

    (hope this works)

Have the exact same question! Not quite sure what to do with all the runners

I am having to grow the cucumbers across the top of the greenhouse now! will be picking the first one any day. It said to harvest at 6 inches, and a couple are about 4in.

    :T

Wow Lunar, your cucumbers look amazing! Did you grow them from seed, and have they been in the greenhouse the whole time?

I have an outdoor cucumber called 'masterpiece' but it's not grown very tall yet.

I can't get any of those recycling boxes from our local council now, so I may shop around to see what you can buy that looks the same. They'd be brilliant because I'd fit more in as opposed to lots of round pots, and they might suit the things I want to grow better too. I also love the big toy-tubs people have found at Asda.

I'm going to be extending my yard so it'll be about 15' square, then over the fence there will be another shady area for a shed, maybe the water barrel, pots not currently in use or already gone over. The shed will get a potting bench and I can clear away what clutter is left in the yard. I don't know if it's worth starting with the pots until I've got the ground work and boundary sorted. But I'm reading and watching and picking up tips.

    So thanks, everyone. :T

It starts to germinate and looks good then it gets to about 2 inches tall and is all spindly and all the lower leaves are a pink yellow colour ????

Glad you asked this! I've got the same problem!! I love the stuff as well. I have about 5 pots of it and it's all gone the same as yours! 2 look like they've died!:( And the rest have started flowering! I've cut the flowers off but am I wasting my time?

The new leaves are all tiny as well.

I've had such a lovely morning. Watered plants and harvested crop (beans and courgettes so far :j). Potted up all the rest of my peppers and chillies (about another 30 plants). Potted up some of my leeks, which are over due for a bigger space. The smell whilst potting them up was simply divine. All in all it was a really good morning. DD was happily digging away, in between running back in to watch her favourite cartoon lol, while I was busy. I then decided to treat my sunflower to a bigger pot as it has been waiting for one for a while now. I had really enjoyed myself and then all went wrong. I went to pick up the watering can, tripped up and snap went my lovely sunflower :o . I was so annoyed I couldn't bear to part with it straight away, so I have stuck it back in the pot until I have the heart to bin it. I only had 2 left from about 20 planted, thanks to the slugs and snails. Now that is down to 1. Sob. At least it was only the 3 foot one not the 4 foot one.
