You break the bulb apart and plant each clove. I pulled my first one up today, planted in November so got loads of really cold weather but it hasn't split and was really small :(

You can also plan the bulb whole, its called forced garlic and can grow indoors (mine are on my kitchen window sill). They are ready about 2 months earlier than normal garlic... i only found this out when i planted my bulb whole indoors then worried that the instructions werent written correctl!

OK :) it was delicious even if I do say so myself

Ok... here is how I do it....

50g fresh mint leaves and stalks
    300ml double cream
    250ml whole milk
    100g sugar (I use granulated)
teensy drop of green food colouring (optional)

Bung it all in a saucepan and heat gently until the cream starts to boil slightly and the sugar dissolves.
Leave to cool and once cool strain out the mint leaves
put into an ice cream maker and churn until made or put into a tupperware box and mash up every 2 hours to remove the ice crystals

    Enjoy!

I usually have this with some chocolate sauce, but you could put choccy chips in the mix to make mint choc chip ice cream.

    Enjoy!

Thank you so much, ill dust off my icecream maker this weekend and give it a go, I think I will add some chocolate chips in as well!

Thanks brians daughter - Very interesting indeed, I never knew that (you learn something new every day on here!) The video says that each clove develops into a new bulb, so what happens, do you get about 8 bulbs all attached to each other? I can't visualise that!!! But think I'll try that as well as growing individual cloves next year. Thanks again :)

Flippin' 'eck. I went and did some pinching out on my tomatoes and accidentally pinched out the only ruddy flowers on one of my tomatoe plants. DOH!

Annoying isn't it? I broke off 3 flowers just by having a nose at the back of the plant. :o

Never mind, your tom will produce more.
