Is it true that one can eat the flowers from a courgette plant? sure i remember jamie Oliver using them in a salad, unless its only a specific variety?0

What size pots for a courgette? Will the Morrisons black buckets do?0

Umm, hubby grew me three plants a few years ago and I was so sick of courgettes by the end of the summer I begged him not to grow them since. Now I've started off four so I must be a glutton for punishment. They were well-spaced in a raised bed though and regularly picked (and we seemed to get far more yellow than green for some reason) .
I've just read your sig. I'm appalled. I appreciate that there are forum rules about links in signatures, but frankly, when the Samaritans offer support to the suicidal, i find it difficult to understand how an exception can not be made.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

I'm sure that would give it sufficient room to grow - mine are in patio planters which aren't as big so I may re-pot at some stage.
Nevr tried the flowers before.0 -
yep you can cook courgette flowers I cant wait.
You can stuff them with cream cheese and herbs and cover in batter and fry them ( not tol slimming but worth a try)
If you google cooking with courgette flowers there are loads of recipes :beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

It upset me too. I left the bit in my sig because I had replied to a couple of very depressed people on the forum asking them to email the link, and I wanted to make people aware that the service was at least there if anyone wanted it. I couldn't imagine why anyone reported it, or why a mod would delete it. I didn't post much for ages afterwards, but am happily gardening after reading all the useful advice on here and enjoying everyone's support.0 -

Move them up gradually until they are in the biggest pots you've got! You need to keep the roots damp & bigger pots won't dry out as quickly. The Morrisons black buckets will probably be OK, but you will need to water them a lot when the plants are full size. Courgettes really do much better in the open ground if possible.0 -

I personally would go for something bigger
I have got mine in a large terracotta pot and when something is pulled out of the big plastic trugs Im going to use one of them
the bigger you get them grow the more you get.
i am only going to do 2 plants + plus the "tondos" as OH "doesnt like them" Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

completely agree, even in my massive terracotta pot, the water has drained away when they were outside leaving a gap between compost and plant - this will be why it frazzled. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most?
