Yes, apparently your allowed to forget your season ticket twice in a 12 month period, this OP successfully appealed his PFN, it was however with SW trains but the same principal should work with First Great Western. Appeal the PFN with a covering letter explaining how forgetful you were that day, enclose a photocopy of your season ticket.Whoa! Most TOCs operate the same or similar policies, although I would imagine it depends on what sort of season ticket it is, duration wise.Chris_The_Ninja_Pirate wrote: »I have an annual ticket...0

Hi all,
I was recently taken to court for fare evasion after showing the incorrect ticket even though I returned to the station with the correct pass later on!!
originally the court did not consider my not guilty plea and as such I was fined including costs a total of 200 pounds, the court then reopened the case as they messed up my plea, I received no new court date as I have an ongoing dispute with royal mail as mail vanishes! the court knew this but still sent mail out to this address... the next letter I recieved was a fine and costs totaling 890 pounds....
any advice !!

Sorry wish I could be more helpful, but to be honest would you put your court defence in the hearsay so of an internet forum with the prospect of losing £870 and having a criminal record if were wrong?
I think mine and wealdroam's advice in this occasion is sound, go see a solicitor.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0
