I suspect millie was feeling a little thin skinned after the heated entry to the threads last night, and I'd like to think that she can read back and realise that noone was intentionally picking on her over the RE stuff, if the jobs are worth it to her then theyre worth it to her regardless of our opinions of the company. But the petty squabbles are getting to be a frankly disgusting feature of this formerly friendly and helpful thread and I for one am getting fed up of reading it. These last few weeks I've seriously considered quitting the thread completely, but I hang around in hope that it'll get back to the friendly place it used to be.
I have no idea why factions and cliques seem to be occurring nor do I particularly 'get' why newbies* to the thread feel the need to wade in and inflame things further. This place thrives on those who have been doing this a while helping new shoppers but right now I simply cant see why anyone would want to come here for help and that really disappoints me, I'd have been lost without these threads when I was thinking about starting but right now am actually ashamed to be a part of it all.
*new posters as I'm sure many have been reading it for a while
That's fine by me and to others who think the same. From now on you can go your own way. I couldn't care less. And I will ask TG to remove my post from the 1st page.
I am on a grown up MS'ing forum in which I don't get insulted like I do on here. As do others who have tried to help people. Ever notice you lot that the valuable posters like Timmne, and others hardly ever post now.
This forum has descended into a kindergarten of cry babies who cannot bear critisism. So I bid you farewellClique member no 1.:D0 -

I'm sorry you feel like that but from where I'm sat you seem to be insulting people too.
You're right it has descended in to a kindergarten, but the only way to 'correct' that is to stop biting when people start squabbling. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

I am sorry you feel like that but like others your opnion matters not a jot to me. Let me remind you of a saying. Rearrange these 3 words .... pot, kettle, black.
If you don't see you are biting too then I feel sorry for your self delusion.:(Clique member no 1.:D0 -

If biting is responding in a calm a manner as I can then yup my pot is as black as night, I only called it as I saw it, you were being a touch harsh, but the majority of my comments are aimed at everyone who has been involved in these bloody flame wars lately.
I and I'm sure others will be sorry to see you leave the thread, I know you helped me and alot of other people when we've started out. Take care HP.It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

And I appreciate that but I'm a stay at home mum with children. I want to do MS as a hobby to get me out of the house and into a different environment. I spend my days at home with a toddler, not doing much. I need some social adult interaction. A 15 minute walk during the day to a local retailer isnt going to take much of my time. I would only be washing or doing other chores. Nor is sitting at the computer writing a report in the evening when otherwise I would be watching tv, ironing or reading on the internet. If I do get a little money then it helps. Im certainly not doing it for a free ride. I'm doing it for fun but serious. My circumstances might be different to everyone elses!. Why cant people accept that?
I MS for different reasons but the purpose is the same - it gives me a reason to get up in the morning :-). Don't worry about what other people think, you are the most important person in your world :-)0 -
I can appreciate your circumstances but you are one of the very few who think RE pay well and have good jobs:cool:
Surely after you've been Msing you still have to go home and do the washing\chores.;)
A comment like that could only come from a man!!!! You have obviously not spent day after day at home with a baby or toddler!0 -
If you're going to argue a point then please keep up
Millerose is going out for a low fee (overall) when she could have done the chores and then be free to do something else more productive.
You just don't get it!!!! She would rather MS than do the !!!!!!! chores! That inane comment could only come from someone who has never been there!0 -
Well as everyone else has an opinion, here is mine........the bullying on here is shocking. Cliques, personal comments, back patting and fawning.
The very first time I posted on the MS thread I was told I was too stupid to be a mystery shopper.
I'm sick of reading strings of posts baitching at each other.
The nature of the job means you can't really discuss it with "real" people and this is supposed to be for cameraderie, venting to folk who understand when things go wrong, swapping tips about briefs and ms companies.
I'm beginning to suspect the nastiness is on purpose. The more people who can be put of msing the better as there are too few jobs to go around.
Can we all agree to be civil, keep posts about the work instead of thread protocol and make this a nicer thread to visit please.
(And if anyone is thinking about directing personal comments at me, they won't beat what I was called today by my manager.......an educated housewife!)
I agree with everything you have said. I have been lurking on this forum for some time. I naively thought that people would be sharing their experiences both good and bad and also giving advice to each other. How wrong I was! The b******g and bullying that goes on here is unbelievable and the same people will also be nice when they want to be. I often wonder what they would think if they reviewed their own messages but imagined that someone else had posted them. Of course maybe you are right and it is on purpose to eliminate people from the field!0
