If you mean the store I think, then it's in Edinburgh due to snobbery. the owners thought having an Edinburgh store sounded better. If they had done any research then they would have put it in Glasgow. The average Weegie is more clothes and brand aware than the average Burgher.

Or they used to be. I'm a long time out of Glasgow now. Would say it was certainly that way when I first moved east. may have changed.

To be fair, as an outsider, I'd have made the same choice due to the reputation that Glasgow has, same with a lot of places [that may well be really nice places in reality] unfortunatley.

Is it true everyone in Edinburgh says "You' have had your tea. LOL

I've just realised I'm doing 6 travel shops in the next week TWICE......ie two different scenarios for two different companies.

    Is this ethical?

In my defence, I booked some of them weeks ago and some just recently, knowing they were the same towns but not that they were the same shops.

I don't want to look bad and cancel some of them, but on the other hand, how do I look convincing on two totally different scenarios?

    And advice guys?

The problem I can see with this is that they may recognise you on the second visit in the same week (likely unless a olarge Branch) and then may treat you differently so may not get a fair assessment for the second scenario.:)

As usual you don't know what you are talking about. Glasgow is not full of Rab C Nesbitt's. It is a very cosmopolitean city now. Far more top quality hotels, far more top quality concert venues and better top end shops than Edinburgh.

A recent retail survery foung for designer shops no 1 is London and 2 is Glasgow.

You are referring to Glasgow as it was 30 years ago. Educate yourself and look up say Glasgow Arc Bridge in Google images.

A bit like everyone in London says "Guv" Or everyone in Liverpool is a car thief.

Something similar happened to me once. I just said " Oh was my twin in here...gosh she never said...we are always getting mistaken for each other"

I got away with it. I went all dressed up for the 2nd and said that twin of mine is a scruffy madam.

Like I said...I'm an outsider, never visited either of them...Glasgow has a reputation, as Liverpool does, as Manchester does, as Belfast does, etc etc, so based PURELY on that, I'd have opened my store in Edinburgh over Glasgow. HOWEVER, I'm far more intelligent than to choose the location of my new store based soly upon [historic/outdated] reputations.

Luckily when I did this, the person who served me the previous time was not working so I was served by someone different who did not recognise me. When my details were entered in the system, there was no big flashing red light across the screen identifying me as a mystery shopper!

Travel Agents must get people coming in all the time, changing their plans and destinations. I'm sure they are not going to question why you want a different quote from previously.
