    :D Afternoon everyone,

I have listed loads on ebay (decluttered) and had to take DS to his friends to play.

taplady, my OH had gout a few months back, I told him it was cause he drank too much (he likes his stong beer at wkends) and only old men who drank too much got it :rotfl:it worked he has now cut down on his beer and only drinks weaker stuff :rotfl:.

NPM, these men are a pain, Im still waiting for my 2 to get anything from their father (now nearly 8yrs) I have now asked my local MP to help as CSA are not doing anything

Just had home made chicken nuggets and oven chips as the kids are not realy bothered about eating (we had a roast yeasterday).

Hope everyone is having a good day so far.

Kind wishes & hugs to you all :D

Just waiting for spuds to cook for kids (and ours tea).
It's snowing heavily and has been for the last few hours  According to H though it isn't snowing in Brum so he'll get a  when he sees it's white over here. Forecast said sleet <rollseyes>
Anyway productive shop. Bought 15 birthday cards for £3 in Card Factory :T Bought the kids a new coat each as my local Adams store is closing so had 30% off. DD's is way too big so shall put that up for another year or so.
Popped to Mothercare to get some birthday pressies and a mum lost her daughter in there. Gosh she was in tears frantically looking (me and other shoppers were helping as it's a massive store). Fortunately found her but listening to her cry in terror was making me well up :o

NPM - now that's just pants  Can't afford to support his son but can afford to take his missus away......grrrrr

taplady - OUCH to the injection for your DH x

Ladyshopper - that's not good of the GP nattering on phone whilst in consultation. Sorry to hear gel isn't working.

nic - we are always been bombarded with demands for a review. Drives me nuts each time I go to the bank. If I need anything I'll ask but they are constantly pushing their credit cards, loans etc etc

JC - Sorry about your Great Aunt xx Am also sorry but I did laugh at the trouser escapade :rotfl:

Have a good evening all :D

  • am at my wits end with DS and his food problems:mad:
The only meals he would eat were fish fingers or sausages or chicken pie:o....now he wont even eat them and is living on toast, bits of fruit now and again and sandwiches.
I just do not know what to do next.....I have over 100 cookbooks but cannot cook anything he is willing to eat.
I know its the whole autism thing but what can i give him to eat? Annoying thing is when he is at his dads once a fortnight he eats rice and meat, stews, pastas etc wont eat it for me...apparently its because we buy our stuff at different shops and it tastes different.
it is more to do with the fact that he eats certain things in certain places and nowhere else iyswim.......eg eats scrambled egg at my mums but nowhere else.....it all goes into compartments and he cant contemplate eating the same thing in a different place.
Anyone got any ideas for what I can feed him? I have told him we are having tuna pasta tomorrow which we will make together.....he is not impressed.
floss I am off work the week DS is away and am planning to cook lovely meals etc for OH and I:p;):D......but I am dreading DS being away really.

NPM - how does he get on if he helps to make the dinner? Not interested at all? Helps out but still refuses to eat? How would he react if you told him this food was coming from his dad's house? Would he believe you? Not sure there is much you can do, just give him vitamin drops for the time being until he's eating a little bit better.

NPM, could you tell him you have been to the shops where his dad goes, and got the food from there, also why not give him two suggestions for tomorrow, say chicken stew or pasta, just give him two choices, and say its one or the other and that he can pick which one, I am not sure how he would react to that, but might be worth a go. xx

NPM - try not to worry(I know its hard not to) - he wont starve himself. When DS was younger he lived on weetabix and nothing else. I was so worried but the health vistor was great and said he'd be fine so I stopped worrying and eventually he ate other things. There's a vast array of reasons why people with autism have food fads as you know. As well as my son I also work with a severely autistic adult who seems to exist on ham sandwiches and coke but is healthy enough.

npm sorry you are having a bad time with everything (((hugs)))

Ladyshopper that sounds like a shoddy consultation, is there another doctor you could see for a 2nd opinion?

Taplady hope the injections work for DH

JC sorry to hear of your auntie

NPM - thats tricky. Can't even begin to understand the food fads associated with autism, but I can sympathise how difficult it must be. As someone else said, can you not tell him you've bought from the same shops as his Dad? Is there any reason he has suddenly stopped eating what he was eating?

My kids would live off cereal and beans on toast if I'd let them (and in school holidays I do to a certain extent!!). DS today had beans on toast for late breakfast, a muller rice pudding thing for lunch, and cereal for tea. Whilst not something I would let him to every day, its certainly not going to kill him.

Don't know what else to suggest. Is there any autism support groups you're members of/know of that could offer any suggestions?

Sistercas - yes it was rubbish, but for some reason I feel guilty about going back to the docs. Silly isn't it? It was a locum, perhaps I'd get on better with a regular doctor from the practice.

NPM - Sorry have no suggestions sending ((Hugs)). My ds2 eats ok, but he cannot cope with too many people at once in the same room and any increase in noise levels, but yet he is so noisy.

Thanks for the birthday wishes yesterday, I had a lovely day!

Back to earth with a bump this morning when I went back to work, but needs must and someone has to take home the bacon. The ground was white this morning, but it soon cleared and no further falls during the day.

DH has had word that he's to have his MRI scan on ankle and neck next week......
