  • Good Morning Everyone,

Despite my good intentions, I have been really lazy about posting. Not much OS going on today as I'm currently at the hospital awaiting an appointment, they sent me out to come back in half an hour, so I'm sat in the car with my shawl wrapped around me, a cuppa and surfing the net on my phone!

If I ever get home today before the boys finish school, I plan on making some Twinks too, we haven't had any for ages, and I usually make then with wholemeal S/R flour, but as I forgot to buy any it will have to be white.

Csarina what's a cold frame for, I'm really making an effort with growing my own this year, after some success last year, and now that we are settled into the house I though it would be a good idea to get busy. I've bought a couple of good books, and treated myself to a mini greenhouse the other day, and keep reading about Cold Frames, but specific instructions about why people use them (i really need the confused smiley here).

Hope everyone has a lovely day.

    Hi everyone,

I've been a bit lax posting as I haven't had a great deal to talk about.

i've got the appointment ot see the surgeon about my lumpectomy next Tuesday (which is DD's birthday but she will be in NZ).

Talking about DD she is back from her diving trip on the barrier Reef in raptures and is now hooked - why does she manage to find all the expensive hobbies? She has been writing a blog for a drinks business website and has been getting some good feedback so she is going to ask them to pay her. All her posts so far have been about the Japanese industry and it's really interesting. Apparently quite a few journalists have written to the site wishing they had thought of it.

Mum is doing well - hopefully she will be out of hospital next week.

OS wise we cleared the spare bedroom at the weekend and I spent quite a long time cleaning the oven and polishing the kitchen floor so they both look respectable.

Ruby, I'm another fan of the chair, I love Lombok stuff but it is so expensive new.

Diva, I'm glad Tris and Michelle are recovering, albeit slowly.

Thriftlady - please come back to the daily, I have been reading your blog and enjoying it but i miss your posts here.

Morning peeps.I also was going into town this morning to get fruit & veg from the market (and a sneaky ball of wool might find its way home with me too)but its drizzly & miserable here, got a bit cold while out with the dog as a neighbour stopped me for a chat, and now I can't be bothered. Can last till weekend anyway.

I hadn't missed the charity collection yesterday :j so thats 3 bags gone. Its spurred me on to do a bit more de-cluttering as well.May venture into the loft later.I'm also going to look for DS2s paper driving licence,we had a look last night and couldn't find it,ending up with DH in a right grumpy old mood,as the insurance is due.DS had a speeding fine nearly 5 yearsago and DH wanted to check the date.We had the same scenario last year - I could have sworn all the stuff like that was in a box together.(I bet DH never put it back last year  )Trouble is he always blames everyone else, never his fault,oh no.:D

I'm making brocolli and blue cheese soup for my lunch, not sure about tea, will have a root about in the freezer. The turkey we had yesterday, frozen at Christmas, tasted a bit 'stale'- it wasn't completely covered in gravy, and the lid had come off,so will have to watch that in future.

    Bye for now-havea good day.x

update on DH the doctor he saw thinks it may be gout! even though it didn't show up in the blood tests. He sent a sample of fluid off and given him a cortisone injection(hurt like hell apparently:eek:) this should help a lot. He's thinking he may be able to go back early next week so is feeling a lot more positive now:) fingers crossed!

just having a quick coffee before lunch - spuds cooking in the oven and having beans and cheese with them.

snoozer - hope your appointment next week goes well for you x

    Af'noon all

I'll be glad when DS1 gets his car fixed and can take himself to work - throws me off not posting first thing!

Some bad news to start the day off as my aunty (my late Nana's sister) died yesterday during an operation and although she had been poorly for a couple of weeks it wasn't expected to be fatal so its very sad for us but especially for her immediate family.

Cringe time - sat in the car this morning and noticed a piece of cotton on my trousers - pulled it thought no more about it......until I went to the loo some two hours later and found a four inch gaping hole when the seam used to be which meant I had been walking round with my butt hanging out :o went back in the office and my boss said 'whats the matter?' I said ' I'll tell you but you're not allowed to look...' :o :rotfl: Rang DH and he saved the day by bringing me another pair of trousers.

Called into Mr A's this morning and got some lovely stewing steak reduced so I'll do that in the slow cooker tomorrow but got some reduced organic baby spuds to with the chicken in breadcrums which is tonights dinner.

Made some lovely soup last night - YS pack of leek and potato soup mix (reduced to 25p so it was rude not too:D) a YS pack of watercress (27p) and i cooked off some little bits of smokey bacon and threw in a couple of handfuls of lentils too. Blended it and it was really tasty. Loads left for super tonight too.

    Must go...I'm 'working' ;)

Good afternoon (usually morning, I'm late posting today).

Everythings gone haywire today, but in a nice way. Firstly a lovely phone call from my "adopted" son I was telling you about the other day. We were on the phone for about 30 minutes catching up and some of the things he said really made me feel special. DD and DS dont seem to say these things but I guess families take each other for granted. Then DH got a call from work asking him to go in today and tomorrow. So a big rush then to get doggies walked, and OH some brekkie.

So, I've just sat down and had a slice of toast (brunch)! Didn't feel at all hungry, just keep reliving our phone conversation. I think I have cracked the secret to slimming:rotfl:

BM on, WM will be put on soon if I can motivate myself to so such mundain things lol. Got to delve into the freezer to find something for dinner, lamb chops I think, not that I fancy anything to eat, maybe I will later when real life takes over and some of this goodfeeling wears off.

(((Hugs))) to everyone to wants one, and even those who dont. Blimey, I think I will have to get a phone call like this every morning, it makes the day so much better.
