Morning all:D
Been up ages with DS as usual:o and didnt get much sleep due to OH...snoring and wheezing and flinging himself around the bed:eek:
DS`s radio came yesterday which he was thrilled with:T, has carried it around ever since. I couldn`t listen to Chris Evans in peace this morning.....DS tells me it is old peoples radio station:cool:
Not much going on in an OS way as DS wants a day of playing and watching films. Not sure what is for tea.....maybe carbonara. Last night had steak, jackets and a gorgeous salad which OH and I really enjoyed.
Tomorrow we are going to see Room on the Broom at the theatre at 11am....will take DS`s ear defenders just incase;).
Redruby am glad DD is almost home.....DS goes to Spain with his dad in June for a week and am dreading it:o. I am very jealous of your conservatory:cool:....it looks lovely and you are obviously getting your new home sorted:T. Good luck with the fortnightly shop. I was having weekly delivery from MrS at approx £70 to £80 a week. I now do 2 fortnightly shops at approx £100 to get free delivery:) and top up with fresh fruit and veg at greengrocer as needed. It is saving a fair bit:T
Bitsy DS has woken with a snotty nose too:o:p0 -
Good morning
I was ill in bed all of yesterday as I started with an awful tummy bug on Tuesday nightFeeling much better now although my back is protesting as I've not moved round much.
Today I have almost caught up in the kitchen after my enforced absence - I don't think that anyone has wiped a work top since I did on Tuesday and they fried sausages last night so it stinks  I've just sprayed my bleach & washing up liquid spray all over the cooker top and will wipe it all off shortly
I'm planning on taking DS3 to the Fusiliers Musuem that has recently opened in our town. We have the Lancashire Fusiliers based here so it'll be a nice thing to do. Only £2 for me and £1 entrance for him so very reasonable :money: He also wants to make some marshmallow crispy bars and some chocolate crispie bars so that'll keep us busy.
Lunch is going to be potato & celery soup & some part baked baguettes and tea is pasta sauce with various chopped veggies and bacon with spaghetti and cheese so nice & easy as the sauce is in the freezer.
Molly Hope that your DD has learned her lesson
Diva Baking day sounds brilliant
Have a good day all I'm going to catch up with what I missed yesterday now xxx0 -
hi morning, not been around for a while ,OS wise i have stewing steak in the SC and done veg ,

morning!
Diva - those twinks sound fab!
Bitsy - hope the leek is tasty!
sunnygirl - glad you are feeling better x
DH is off to the docs - the surgery said the doc tried to ring last night but it was engaged:mad: thats a lie as DH sat by the phone all eveneing! he's going to a different doc this morning. He's been off work for 3 weeks now.
I've got 2 days off:j am cleaning at Mums later then am going to attempt to make a fish pie with a big piece of cod from Morrisons that was on offer a few weeks ago. Not made one before so need to look out a good recipe.Hopefully I will be able to freeze some too for next week.
i've been offered another cleaning job by a friend so am thinking about it. Dh is worried that I do too much - full time work plus 2 small cleaning jobs but the money is very handy and I am determined to get us through this bad patch.
House clean, bed stripped and airing so will make it up later. nearly finished the shopping list. Last week we took a calculator and it made sure we kept to the list and budget:)
(((hugs))) to those in need.
have a great day xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Good Morning all, gosh its a chilly one this morning, I have some chopped dried apricots left over from Christmas and twinks sound like a good way to use them up, I must check and see if I have any vanilla first though.
yesterday we went to dover for the day and took the boys around the great museum there.there was a family day on and a 'trail' that the boys could follow and another room where creative activitys were going on.Very reasonable entrance fee for 1 adult 1 old biddy(me) and four children they only charged us £11.00. which was a good couple of hours entertainment with lots to see and do.It's on three floors and set out very well. When we came out we went up to the castle as I have an English Heritage pass and my DD gets in for nothing as my 'carer' :)the children are all registered on there so another 'free' visit. There were some live actors acting out various bits of history in there which facinated my youngest DGS. Especially the 'court jester' all in all a good day out and the weather, although not hot, was at least dry.Took ages to get there as there had been a bad accident on the motorway and it was closed off for a long while, but we all enjoyed ourselves having a singsong and seeing how long we could make a sweetie last .(We really know how to keep the children amused)
ben went fishing and caught 6 fish which pleased him immensley.DD off to work today so I may be called to watch the little ones this afternoon if son-in-law has to go into work for anything. He normally works from home but his job is flexible and he sometimes gets called in with only about half an hours notice,so I am not too bothered as I am shopping from my cupboards anyway and have no need to go anywhere today.
Eldest DGS Danny popped in with his girlfriend Chloe last night to say hello as they had been out for a curry and thought they would just make sure I was o.k. She spotted my blanket knitting, and longs for a 'betty boop' blanket. So I may do one for her for Christmas in black and pink.Well 'Basil' has been for breakfast,he had to put up with some rather stale bits of multi seed bagels this morning, but I'm sure his beak can take it, and he seems grateful for his bits in the morning.I am now going to go and make a nice bacon sarnie for mine as I really fancy that.Hope everyone has a good day and keeps wrapped up warm.
Cheers chums JackieO xx0 -
Morning All
Sunny Girl I had something very similar last week and felt rubbish (on the up side I lost 5 lb's!!) Hope you feel better soon.
Busy day today as I look after my DGS and DS3 has a Dickens essay to get on with, always an uphill struggle to get him to complete written homework!
Very interested in the twinks you all keep mentioning so think I will search out the recipe and have a go. I bet they are addictive.
Cold and frosty here as well but definitely going out for a walk with DGS and hopefully he will sleep for an hour this afternoon.
Sausage Mash and beans for tea as I have some sausages that want eating and maybe twinks for afters. Off to find the recipe.
I am officially addicted to crochet. Yesterday knitted a bag from start to finish just needs sewing up:j also my ripple blanket is getting bigger and bigger and lots of different colours, I can't stop LOL:rotfl:Does anyone know if I can put a square edge around once it's big enough as I don't know how much use a round blanket will be:rotfl:
Have a good day everyone xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all, I'm sure by the time I have 1 finger typed this 20 other people will have posted.
Had an awful dream last night, I dreamt I was pregnant:eek: It was more of a nightmare:rotfl:
No idea what we are eating today, I am supposed to be doing an online shop now but got a bit sidetracked:o
Plumber coming tonight, the last one wanted to charge £3000 to put a combi boiler in:eek:
Off into town soon, I want to try buying veg at the market instead of the rubbish tesco sell. Also it's my friends 40th tomorrow so need to get her something, no idea what though.
Hope you all have a good day.Sealed Pot Challenge Member NO. 853 :j0 -
Morning all................(((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
We got up early this morning to get our porridge before lifting the rest of the bedroom carpet.
We were beaten to it by the fitters, they arrived just after 8am and we now have a lovely bright white floor in the bathroom and a pretty celadon green carpet in the guest room, the fitters moved the carpets, folded them up and put them outside for us, we now need to put the stuff back. I have to phone and see if I can get the bed delivered next week.
Yesterday afternoon I found a stain on the carpet in the hall, pulled the carpet up and horror of horrors the floor was soaking, it was the washing machine the rubber washer on the water intake had perished and ever since the water was put on last week it has been leaking under the vinyl. We have to allow the floor to dry out and I have to see if I can get the water mark out of the hall carpet.
We have appointments with the practice nurse this morning and then a trip to Haddington, we have to take paper work in to the council, I have to go to the bank, a quick trip to Tesco and OH wants to look at the cold frames in Aldi.
Its been very cold again overnight, quite a heavy frost; the sun is just starting to shine, we are not forecast for snow, but the Mildlnads is, I hope DS2 makes it ok tomorrow, he aims to be here by 11am, so an early start for him.
I will be glad to see the shelves etc up and the last of my stuff up off the floor and the fridge freezer in the kitchen, I have been having to rummage around in the chest freezer. I have some miince in there but cannot find it, ggggggrrrrrr..
Aldi have wool 500g for £4, I will get a packet, I am doing some crochet making a granny shawl using up some bits. I may also knit another hat and glove set.
Sandy71 Aldi have good veg and its often on offer, vine tomato's are on offer this week, I love them......its usually 6 veg and fruit and lasts for just over a week. I find Aldi quality much better than Tesco, they also try and use home produced veg a lot of what we have bought say grown in Scotland on which is brilliant, as we now live in Scotland.
Right offsky to put the stuff back in the spare room.....see y'all later...........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
