Hi I have just started this so was looking out for cheaper deals. if you have a body works shop the ready mixed ones are 97p, boots the powder is on offer at £2.99 but out of stock. Wilkinsons had powders for £3.67 and ready mixed 6 bottles for £3.99. asda had the snacks for 30p and home bargains had choc bars for 19p. morrisons did have the cans for £3 but not sure if this has changed this week.

  • Does anyone know where I can get the Slim-fast meal bars cut price? I've run out of the stock I bought when they were on BOGOF earlier in the year, and none of the major supermarkets (on mysupermarket) or Boots have them on offer, plus my Morrisons don't stock them. Has anyone seen them on offer anywhere or is there a cheap online source? Four quid for three seems excessive to me, and they don't even taste that nice, but they're convenient! :D

Hey indebted, have you tried tesco's own brand meal bars? I think they're a pretty good substitute, and they're on a long term price offer of 6 bars for £3.50 they come in chocolate and raspberry/yogurt and are called ultraslim. Hth x

Thanks doc, I'll give those a try. Are they similar calorie count/system to the SF bars?

i lost 5 stone on slimfast and weight watchers foods. it took around 10 months in total and ive kept it off for many years. I had 2 slices of granary bread & blackcurrant jam or a bowl of rice crispies with that pretend sugar for breakfast . Lunch was a slimfast shake. Dinner was a weight watcher ready dinner . if i was hungry i had a piece of fruit or a low fat yogurt and nothing else except water or tea with low fat milk. it worked for me and im 50 and menopausal .

when i got to target weight i dropped the weight watchers dinner and had my usual family meal but as small as possible or a egg or ham salad or a wrap with just ham salsa and salad.

now a few years later i have the same breakfast, one sandwich and one piece of fruit or yogurt for lunch and a very small dinner.

over time your appetite shrinks down but the first week was hard after that i lost the taste for fatty foods

once a month i pigged out bottles wine chocolates everything and usually woke up feeling sick as a pig lol

i did no exercise whatsoever except walk everywhere which i still do , i dont like exercise and still lost 5 stone using those products , my advice is stick to 1200 a day no lower and no higher unless yr massive and good luck x

I use the tesco own brand meal bars for breakfast, the chocolate flavour are disgusting but the raspberry are ok. The calories count and vitamins seem pretty similar to me.

They are £4 for a pack of 6, flavours I spotted were chocolate (eww), strawberry (ok) and cafe latte (yum - but makes my wee smell of coffee :o).
