Orange wednesday and 3D

Some cinemas are choosing to absorb the cost of this promotion so as to allow customers to continue using Orange Wednesdays to purchase tickets for 3D films, others are not. I thought they were phasing this out though.
Of course the glasses aren't free, you get to keep them if you want so you don't need to buy a new pair next time. A rip-off would be making you buy a new pair each time.0 -
When I went to see Avatar in 3D - admittedly not on an Orange Wednseday ticket etc. I can absolutely confirm that you don't get to keep the glasses. They're not the old flimsy type you used to get - they're actually quite substantial.
Anyway - I digress - basically it states that 3D isn't included, so therefore I think that the cinema too a very practical approach in giving credit for a standard film and only asking for the difference. Well done them I would say.0 -
I have never been asked for the glasses to be returned. There is a recycling box outside if you choose to use it, but they can't force you. I have a small collection which I take to save me paying the £2 each time.0

It depends of the cinemas policy, not the movie you see. As other people have said, some people let you keep them and they are not the flimsy ones.0 -
My husband and daughter went to watch it and he was charged for her glasses. In laws went to watch it at the same cinema and weren't charged. They all kept the glasses.0

At odeon they charge you for the glasses whether you use your own or not..
and on topic..

At our local Cineworld we went to see a 3D film last year (Harry Potter I think) and we paid for the glasses but were told we could keep them to save buying them again for future 3D films we go and see.
We've never had a problem seeing 3D films on Orange wednesday either and now even the chinese buffet near the cinema is doing a 2 4 1 on a Wednesday if you produce a cinema ticket stub which is a double bonusIf At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00 -
i'm going to stand in support of paul osborne and stand against the evil corporations and their greedy profiteering undertaken against you and yours.
reckon you should write to head office and demand compo, it's clearly affected you enough to sign up and start ranting on here. you and your daughter must be SEETHING
i reckon £5,000 will be enough to send a message that you wont stand for it, without looking greedy.
pm me if you want some advice on how to word your letter (click on my name and hit 'send a private message to brettcta').
i did the same recently with a well known italian food hut when they "accidentally" charged me for the wrong sized pizza and took nearly 3 minutes to rectify it on the bill. my 2 children were left shaking, crying and my youngest needed her mum to stay in her room with her for three nights afterwards, who herself was a hysterical mess.
i wrote to this italian food hut and received £15,000 compensation for this monstrosity after threatening them with court action. they offered me a free meal for me and mine. i saw this as nothing other than an insult to my wife and my child and am currently in the process of taking them to court for further undue stress, upset & my impending divorce as due to the stress levied on me, my wife and our child, it has meant i had no choice but to sleep with my secretary and take her out for several meals at swanky restaurants. my girlfriend found out about this and immediately moved to her mothers, where she has stayed ever since with our 3 daughters.
we must stand strong and stand united against these evil bastards before they ruin any more families like they have mine.helpful tips

Our local Odeon charge you also whether you take your own glasses or not, remember asking after the 1st 3D film we went to see and was told it was a set price with or with out the glasses.:beer:0
