Today, I got stirfry packs from Tesco - £1.50 reduced to 1p :]0
-
dont know if this has been mentioned or if anyone else knows but i overheard a tesco employee saying tonight that items from the bakery arent allowed to be reduced down to 10p at the end of the night as they can make more money off just wasting the items!!!!let he without sin cast the first stone0

I think I may have to try doing some late night supermarket shopping.Although like most things it is all about being in the right place at the right time.0

I usually shop at Waitrose and the reduced items are reduced to the point they will all definitely go because there is a very generous reduction.
However when I go to Tesco there are items like Milk Trays with half the chocolates missing for 30p off. Me and my missus where laughing out loud at the thought of someone buying that for their partner. Why are Tesco so tight on the reductions; they'll be going in their bin at that price!0 -
My Tesco's is pretty rubbish on reductions too, never more than 50% off and that's literally if it's the end of the day and the food would walk off the shelf itself otherwise!! Battered boxes etc all get about 20p knocked off!!
However the Tesco where my mum shops is fab for reducing things - of a Saturday evening she gets all kinds of stuff down to 10% of the original price (ie. 90% off!) I think it depends on the staff, you know!0 -
I went to Loughborough Tesco today (the old one, not the new one) and I noticed they've changed what they do now. They used to bring the stuff to the reduced section and reduce it there but now they take everything out the back, reduce it there and then bring it out to put out. Then when they further reduce items, they take them off the reduction shelves and out the back to reduce. I was going to hang around for a bit but I'd already been there ages waiting. When I got there, the stuff was 25% off and then when they put out the next lot of items at about 5.45pm it was 50% off. The items I was really interested in, fish and meat, were taken away for further reduction at 5.45pm but by 6.15pm they still hadn't come back out so I gave up. Knowing my luck they'd have come out at 6.20pm :-)
The new Tesco in Loughborough reduces the old way standing at the reduced area and I've been in on a Sunday before and have found stuff with that day's date on, taken it to the yellow sticker lads and asked very nicely (with a big smile) if they were able to reduce the items and they were very obliging.0 -
I was thinking earlier that I don't recall ever seeing frozen items yellow stickered. Is this purely me missing them? Or do they not occur due to the longer dates on frozen items compared to items in the fridges or on the shelf.0

I haven't come across any in Tesco, but in Iceland a few weeks back I managed to pick up a party pack of desserts (60 mini desserts) for £3 instead of £10, similarly a pack of 60 various kebabs was reduced to £5 from £10. They do have one small freezer cabinet at the side of the tills, reserved for reduced stuff I think.0

yeah iceland do but i've never seen any in tesco'sDEC GC £463.67/£450

Interesting, thank you. I have never actually been in an Iceland, might try to see if I can arrange a diversion to one soon just to see what they are like.0
