Op, I have had this happen once or twice before, nearly always in Sainsburys rather than anywhere else! I was trying to quietly smuggle reduced chicken breast into my trolley and a lady went past saying something like "ergh....I'm glad WE don't have to do THAT" as if I was a tramp too!! I have resorted to not shopping in there so often, it's a different story in my local Asda where there are lots of people just like me...... backside upwards rummaging to see whats there, enough moons there for a total eclipse!!!

I was thinking earlier that I don't recall ever seeing frozen items yellow stickered. Is this purely me missing them? Or do they not occur due to the longer dates on frozen items compared to items in the fridges or on the shelf.

Very occasionally I have seen frozen items reduced, usually because of bashed box.

Don't worry about about what other people think not your problem. Mind you in my local local supermarkets you have to be careful you don't get barged out the way.

They are like a pack of wolves and they hunt all together and it is the same people day after day after day.

speaking from experience any frozen food item that was damaged would be binned, i have previously seen reduced frozen food in a sainsburys store things like bagged items like chips etc

I know what you mean! If I wasn't laughing at them (they take themselves so seriously!) I'd probably be a little scared, but they do work in packs, it seems Asda and Waitrose stores near me are the worst, I shop late so I don't see many of them but the few times I do shop before 9pm there they are, arguing with the discounting man. One actually told me (after I asked nicely if he'd reduce something for me) that he had to be quick (ie was that it) as he "didn't like hainging round here" before jerking his neck around to see if he could spot anyone!

So far as the ignorant pigs that look down their noses at you dont worry about them, they are probably pampered over paid civil servants you will soon see them rumaging soon enough :)

I've seen a few academics and a doctor from my surgery in the discounted food section of Asda and Tesco!

I've given up on visiting one supermarket's discount area before dark - some people are just so aggressive... and soooooooooo greedy - I sometimes wondered whether some of the aggressive ones that take e.g., 10+ packs of discounted tomatoes are running a business rather than feeding a family.
Reduced food hunting is definitely a survival of the fittest game.

The other day they where comparing till reciepts (where is the rolling eye smilie)I was lucky for the first few weeks after our waitrose opened I had a lot of the reductions to myself but now they wander over from sainsbury's:(

I do feel for the staff doing reduction being followed around. I alway keep my distance and wait. But you have to be quick.

I just got a raving bargain in Tesco, ALbert Bartlett Rooster Red Potatoes they have started selling them in 7.5kg sack usually £4.49 still a bargain at that price but Mr T had a load of them reduced to £1.19 bought 2 sacks of them :) We go through potatoes in this house like nothing so should last for a while at least.

I did notice the others only has a date on of 20th May so may be worth having a lokk next time your in maybe MR T has ended up with a slow seller with short dates :) We like these :)
