its all !!!!!!!! cause i have been caring for my duck non-stop for the last 5 days now and to see that some 1 has cared for there duck less than 70 times and is winning when my duck is always and i mean always at 125 knots and to find out that i have still got 4000 miles to to go and is over the top players time i will be finishing it in about 8 days its all a swiss they just randomley let people win any way all the best
Like you I cared for my beloved duck and just like you was assured that she was 'zooming along'. I reckon they were but not necessarily in the right direction!! I was tempted to try again with a different e-mail but I don't think I could stand the stress. I just hope a more deserving owner wins the prize.0

I have now tried with 3 different ducks who have different needs. I am able to get all ducks up to 124/125 knots average speed, but they only stay at this speed for about 10 minutes and then drop back down to 111/112 or less. I have tried over-topping up the ducks to see if this means that as the levels drop, their average speed gets higher and is sustained for longer. This does not work. It is impossible to get an average speed of 124 after only topping up every 2 hours. I wrote to helpme@quackyraces.com and i got these responses:-
"Each duck is different. The aim of the game is to understand your own duck's requirements, and care for him/her accordingly. You might have a duck that requires a lot or little food/love/sleep, or you might not. It is for you to find out the right combination for your own duck."
AND
"It is possible to have a high average speed with fewer top ups, if that person got a duck a duck requiring a different set of requirements than yours. We are monitoring the race, and I can reassure you that no one has a score technically not feasible."
I don't believe this answers the question as to why the person who has spent the least time caring for the duck is the current leader, when the object of the game is to take care of the duck, not neglect it? I don't believe that she managed to get exactly the right amounts each time she topped up the duck and that these top-ups allowed the duck to continue at 124 knots for 2 hours in a row!
I don't believe that it is a fair competition and wonder whether it is being operated within the competition rules?0

In light of the response I wondered if you tried calling any of your ducks SID or son of SID? (perhaps it's in all in the name). As ladycadbury suggests if more people write to quacky races maybe they will have to look into it further. I will certainly write.0

I just made one called SID (Punk) on my old email, and one called Wally (Sherlock) on my normal email will race them against each other LOL...

This is the response I got to my message to Quacky Races:
We are sorry to hear you’re unhappy about the Quacky Races competition.
The aim of the game is to get your duck to travel at the optimum speed and then maintain that optimum speed. You control the ducks speed by guessing the right combination of love, food and sleep. [REALLY? well, who'd a'thought it..? you know I never worked that out..!!!! - idiots:mad:]
As explained in the Terms and Conditions, and when selecting your duck… each duck has different characteristics, so no two ducks will have the same top-up requirements. It’s possible to have a high average speed with fewer top-ups…or vice versa.
You’re welcome to race again with another duck. Bear in mind that you’ll need to use a different/new email address.
Thanks again for taking the time to contact us.
Kind regards
Quacky Races Team
- SO, no help there, then...! I STILL maintain that it should be impossible for someone to win with only 68 top-ups!0

Except that every duck of the same type has identical requirements?
I've tried them all, and none of them can go that long without majorly dropping the speed.
Still, good news that I can race again and waste another 5 days of my life! I wonder how much caffeine it'll take to stay awake for 5 days?0

Don't know about you but could I feel more stupid!! THAT'S what I was meant to do, work out my duck's needs. (Could they be more patronising.)
Right with you. I don't believe that it is possible to maintain such a high speed with only 68 top-ups.
I thought I was being a real saddo getting upset about this but then I realised it's actually a very good prize so not sad at all.
I think everyone that starts the race now should call there duck Sid, (might make a point). I'm tempted to go again.
P.S. Has any one tried entering a duck and never caring for it?0

Sorry to bump guys- I was just wondering if anyone can see the leader board at the moment? I've finally worked out how to get my duck to go faster! :rotfl:0
-
I have just started a new duck and it wont show me either, but if I log into my old duck I can see it, so it just seems to be a change that you cant compare how your duck is doing until the end.
I suppose this is to keep people interested until the end, ny first duck became a little neglected once I knew she wasn't going to win.0
