It's not dodgy one bit, I explained it the other day if you work it out, caring for every 2 hours would mean over 5 days caring for it 60 times exactly. So nothing fishy to me, entirely possible, i'm not sure it's random, I think it's based on everything, time, how many times you care for it, how regular you care for it, avg speed everything.

It makes good sense. As I didn't care that much and it went to somewhere around 60s. Thanks for the explanation:beer:

Oh, i didnt do the maths at all then!! :rotfl:

I knew you could keep a decent average speed if you care for it every 2 hours, didnt multiply that by the amount of days! It's entirely possible and good luck to the person who done it. Not at all dodgy. Wish I had the time and dedication to care for mine every 2 hours for 5 days :D

Thanks for the replies everyone and for clearing it up.

The problem is that in 2 hours the speed will have dropped far too much to average 124 (and if you work it out from the time it's actually only marginally off 125). Even if you go past the maximum speed and let the game drop down to it giving you 124, then 125 then 126 then 125 then 124, you'd be averaging less after only 45mins. Maybe with an abolute perfect setup you could maintain that speed over an hour, but over two? No chance.

From my experience with the game there's simply no way to put in that time with those few updates without either the game bugging out or by cheating.

I have a feeling that during the night from midnight onward, although your speed drops, the distance covered increases and I don't know, yeah based on if it had to be cared for every hour would be well over what it is. Which means only that they are a cheat, or it's setup to run so that you can keep the average even during the night when your sleeping. I'm going to start again tomorrow, and every hour update it and keep track of distance covered over 3 hours during day, to covered overnight. It's worth it for £6000!

It doesn't, I've spent far too long trying to get a perfect setup for this game!
I've already lost 2 nights sleep to it :(

Incidentally, does anyone know if multiple entries are allowed? The t&c's only state no bulk entries, which afaik isn't the same as multiple.

I agree, 68 times to maintain an average of 124 knots - I just can't see how it's possible - the longest my duck will stay at the same rate is 10 minutes, so, for example, my duck drops from 125 -123 at least every 10 minutes [and sometimes way sooner than that]; no way could someone keep an ave 124 speed going, just by topping-up every two hours.

I ljust eft my duck at 126 and when I returned to it 45 mins later it was 119; I upped it to 125 and it dropped to 123 in 6 mins. SO, I still don't see how the leading duck has done it...!!!

BTW: I found this forum specifically because I was looking to see if anyone was querying this magic duck..!

Like you I found this forum cos I was wondering about sid the magic duck. I can only assume that either his owner managed to get him an airline ticket or she is a computer genius. My poor duck still hasn't finished despite my 'ducky devotion'. I am assuming that she has been rounding up the stragglers or has been horribly maimed, losing a foot, so has bravely paddled on in a circulary motion.

Poor duck - need to give it even more hugs - but then she'll get dizzy with too much love... oh no! - can't win either way! :)

I think what people have been doing (as I believe this thread has pointed out) is to over-top-up your duck so he starts on 122 knots but his bars are actually higher than his optimum levels. And then as the 3 bars decrease he will actually hit his optimum levels for caring and increase in speed before he decreases again (hope that makes sense). That way you can actually get a good average speed and not need to top up your duck for about 2 hours - I have in fact done this myself when testing speeds so I believe it may well be possible with the right dedication.
