mnkyhngr - what has happened to your duck, you were above my 'Aunty P' duck on the leaderboard and now you have disappeared altogether!
I think the leaderboard was a bit missed up at the start, it showed me in position 1 but my details were highlighted again at the bottom with an 18 against it! Currently it shows me at 101 but the average speed has dropped to 102 and the finish time as 6 days 2 hours 35 ( which is probably what it should have been)

i have cared for my duck none stop for 3 days now and only covered 3526 miles my average speed is at 125 knots and havent really had no sleep at all i have noticed that other people are doing a lower average speed than me and have gone double the distance than me there has to be something really odd here im going to stick it out and see what happens go DUCKY (rubber) good luck everyone:think:
do you keep reloading the page? the screen looks as if it is updating but isn't always up to date. I used to refresh before doing anything (unless my duck was starving and I had to feed it fast)!

It is up to date, apart from the distance covered. If you refresh, your food etc goes down a little bit, until you top up again then refresh again. So really there's no point refreshing :)

The number that comes up at the bottom is your duck number i.e. if its 18 you were the 18th person to register. My duck finished at 2am this morning and was 4th (Lew Lew) then this morning I continued to care for it and topped it up and dropped to 9th with finish time going up to add on the hours since I had last topped it up! So .... don't top up your duck !!! Of course this may change during the day (who knows what is going on with the leaderboard) but this is just my theory

Scrap the bit about the number - don't think that's right but pretty sure your time goes up if you top up after duck has finished.

[STRIKE]OK, so my duck number changed?[/STRIKE] - OK read your next message
I did top up my duck (it was starving, lonely and tired) some time after the race, which may explain the sudden drop (although I think I was caring for my duck as it finished so I don't think it was the first time I topped- up after it finished)
I never expected to win (not enough of a duck carer) but would be interested in finding out the winning strategy.

You can scrap my "don't top your duck up after its finished theory too lol". Topped my OH duck up that finished about 2 hours ago and was in 411th and it didn't affect the finish time. So I still have no idea why half an hour after my duck finishing it suddenly dropped from 4th to 9th and added 7 hours on to its finish time?? This is all very odd. In fact its quackers :rotfl::rotfl:

my duck has now been swimming for 4 days now and im still doing an average of 124 knots and still my duck has only swam 6000 miles i have still got at least 8000 miles to go i look at the leaderboards and there are people who have done an average of 108 knots and have completed the race in 5 days there is no way that my little duck can swim 8000 miles in a day and i have been up every night to make sure that my speed does not drop below 124knots there has to be something iffy going on here i will still carry on though but it is a load of ballocks really oh well have fun racing:mad:

Been watching this thread for a while now and feel compelled to post. I raced a duck but didnt care for it enough and ended up with a slow time - which is fine.

I can accept that with round the clock care someone could finish the race with a high average speed and was tempted to try this myself. BUT now the lead duck has gone around with an average speed of 124 knots (very possible) but has only been cared for 68 times?!! How is this possible? Seems something dodgy is going on if you ask me.

You know what, I thought it rather strange but since I didn't care for my duck that badly, I let it be... BUT thanks for mentioning it. I don't know if I can call it dodgy but it is certainly strange how it functions.
No! I personally can't call it dodgy...but strange how computers work.
Thanks to those who help us to win !
