  • That is just about the town's only claim to fame. Jack's in Pier Road. Tell them Mike sent you, and watch how they look at you uncomprehendingly and say "Who?"

    Worth a try.

Had to look twice as initially thought you were talking about crabs & believe me, you do NOT want to know what the others were discussing after a long day on very little sleep!!!!!!!!!

Few things in life can cheer me up as quickly as reading a message from Billie and knowing things are going better for her.

Before you pay any more off the debts, treat yourself to something nice just for yourself?

    You rock, Billie!

Wow Mike thanks for the kind words, good to know that I have cheered someone's day.

Actually have had my eye on a "purple" lacy bra and pant set!!!!!!!!:o And just might treat myself........... something I am really not used to doing.

My brain is ticking SB and Mike and of course you will not be in the dark SB.

Also had a thought that some of the "mob" on here might actually be holding off coming down to you for the DIYSOS or reveal for fear of actually being identified in the big wide world. However, a private party for us all would be a different kettle of fish!?!?!?!?

Will be back soon - loves you all more than you will ever know.

    Billie xx

Used actually an awful lot in that reply. Sorry

    Hi Billie

I personally think that the reveal is not going to be what you expect. Christine has no way of rallying everybody together for the reveal and I think she is just relying on us to turn up on the Friday for the reveal. They will not have names. If you don't want to be filmed hide around the corner. The fun can then start when the cameras are turned off. This meet up is a unique opportunity for us all to meet Mike and have a party when the film crew have left.

Lets be honest, no one is going to force you to do something you don't want to do. Stay clear and pop out when its all over.

    Please come.

I've got such a headache. I've just spent 12 hrs in 2 days reading this thread and just got to the end. I feel like I've finished the 2nd book in a trilogy but the third hasn't been released yet!! :)

Mike, I'm so happy for you, and chuffed you've made all these fantastic friends on here!!! I don't think I've ever felt so emotionally attached to a group of people I don't know! You all rock!!

    :T

I think it'd be great if something bigger comes from this thread. So many people visit MSE now that whatever you decide to do - don't forget you already have a great platform for it.

I hadn't heard of the Registry Trust or Trust Mark until I came on this site. I'm saving to get a dodgy loft conversion fixed so knowledge like that will be invaluable. At the end of the day it's gotta be about empowering people with ways of finding useful info.

Nice to have a bit of summer reading. I am impressed that anyone can get through it all now!

This thread will not be the end of anything. I can see a very useful and popular website resulting from it, and that will be one of the good things to come out of it. I hope everyone will contribute ideas and stuff to it and share in its success.

We feel attached to you too and to everyone who comes out of the lurking closet! There is NO WAY you must have anything but a totally good experience with your building project!

Building regs will know which local builders are OK and which ones give them endless trouble... Just saying...

That describes me pretty well. Could you overlook the ears?

No no, say away! Luckily the Building Regs dept have been good in making recommendations. A sign of a good builder seems to be one who can't fit in the work until Christmas. Patience is a virtue apparently... :o

Are the DIY-SOSers doing your back garden too?
